My daffodils

I?d not picked up a paint brush since leaving school 36 years ago until my lovely friend Alison encouraged me to join her for a watercolor workshop with a Ukrainian artist based in Southampton - Viktoriia Bezugla.
Viktoriia has a lovely approach to teaching and gave me the confidence to just "give it a go?"
I painted this piece during her workshop using Rosa watercolors. I now have been bitten by the ART bug and find myself taking a mini art pad and paint set everywhere I go.

Authenticity

My art "Authenticity"

This piece represents my journey of transformation' a journey of becoming the truest and most authentic version of myself.

It is about releasing limiting beliefs, breaking free from old patterns, and leaving behind the masks I once wore to fit expectations and seek acceptance. The act of removing the mask symbolizes letting go of the false identities that no longer serve me and embracing who I truly am.

At its heart, this artwork carries a powerful message: be authentic, be true to yourself, and remember that you are enough exactly as you are' and always have been.

This piece speaks of breakthrough and self-discovery. It is an invitation to respect yourself, trust your intuition, and have the courage to create a life that aligns with your deepest truth and desires.

The figure shedding the mask represents the old version of myself' the version that pretended to be someone else, hidden behind fear and expectations. The emerging figure symbolizes my true self: courageous, free, and willing to be seen. It reflects the strength required to embrace change, step into authenticity, and live unapologetically as who I really am.

This artwork is a celebration of personal growth, self-trust, and the freedom that comes from being fully and genuinely yourself.
