Formed by an outcaste group of MEXICAN WRESTLERS who shunned the Lucha Libre (Free Wrestling), they decided to create their own form of wrestling…they called it Calcetin Libre (Sock Wrestlin
g). This UNDERGROUND, and always VICIOUS sport was never seen, yet always spoken of in the MEXICAN GHETTO’S. For years champions were crowned, yet they could never show off their abilities. It wasn’t until a chance encounter with 5 x time SOCK WRESTLING CHAMPION Antonio López de Santa in a seedy male strip club by the SMO FOUNDERS, that the ANCIENT sport was brought to our shores. Reluctant at first, Antonio soon saw a LOVE and RESPECT for the ancient fighting form by the two SMO founders. Antonio also handed the SMO founders the INVALUABLE SOCK WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP BELT. Which for the next event is up for grabs! But what are the rules of SOCK WRESLTING…
• Two people enter a ring
• wearing one sock each
• both wrestlers must be on their knees
• First person to take the other persons sock off wins
SIMPLE! Our format is pretty simple as well. 8 fighters battle it out over 3 rounds of DIRTY, SEXY and always FILTHY SOCK WRESTLING. We also have some AWESOME prizes to give away to our SOCK ME OFF CHAMPION and runner up. But for me it’s all about our 3rd prize…which has and always will be… A WATERMELON! On this Facebook like page we will update you on upcoming events, upload photographs from previous events, give you stats on all of our fighters, and also show you EXCLUSIVE fight videos from all our OLD & NEW SMO events. SMO is also about LIVE MUSIC as well. We’ve had world class DJ’s and BANDS play at previous events, and we sure as hell are gonna keep that coming. Check out whose playing at the next SMO here!
