While we still haven't found a venue yet for our escape room, we have found somewhere to host our prison play!

Set during the 2021 Covid Pandemic, and based ​on the true experiences of a real-life prisoner, follow "One Off" ​on his journey through the prison system as ​he battles guilt and remorse, not just for his crime but how it has affected those around him.

Join him as he meets fellow inmates, discovers their stories and explores a whole new world that he has never seen himself being a part of...

My name is James Riley, and I am an ex-offender.

Last Wednesday I attended Parkstone Soup in a bid to get funding for an escape room pilot.

I told my story of going to prison, the impact of my crime, the stigma and prejudice of being an offender but also what I gained from my stay in custody.

With vision, hard work, determination, and research into the rate of reoffending and crime rates since covid, my pitch was the winner and I walked away with £625 to get my project up and running.

I want to create a pilot escape game, Cell Escape, to take to schools, youth centres, adult support groups, fetes, parties and more.

The idea is to provide a short game that while fun and entertaining has a message of how life inside prison is and how there really is hope and a second chance for ex-offenders, but only if you work hard and ask for it.

A special thank you to Lyn at Inspire Dorset for help with the pitch and everyone who voted on the evening and to Michael at Parkstone Soup for giving me the opportunity.

I now have enough funding for a mobile pilot and to begin this project. Keep your eyes on the page and if you think you can help with the project please get in touch.
