The Playgoers team were out in force today at the NODA East Midlands awards today in Retford. It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating local theatre and everyone involved.

We are very proud to announce that we brought home two awards! 🏆🏆

Our very own Jo Warrick brought home the region 5 best director award for her hard work on ‘Agatha Christie’s Black Coffee’ last year. And Rachel Grace snapped up the region 5 award for outstanding performance in a play for her turn as Miss Prism in our 2025 production of ‘The Importance Of Being Earnest’.

Many congratulations to our two magnificent winners, we couldn’t be more proud! And of course to all of our friends at our neighboring societies for their nominations and award wins!

As always, proud to be a Playgoer! ❤️

🎭✨ One week on, and we're still smiling! ✨🎭

As we reflect on the conclusion of the second One Act Drama Festival, we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make it such a wonderful celebration of local theatre.

Over the course of the weekend, audiences were treated to an outstanding range of performances from:
👏 Bourne Footlights
👏 Horncastle Theatre Company
👏 Blackfriars Theatre Academy
👏 Sutton Bridge Players
👏 St. Peter's Hill Players

Every company brought something special to the stage, and the quality, creativity, and passion on display throughout the festival were truly exceptional. Community theatre is thriving, and we're incredibly proud to have shared the stage with such talented groups.

Our final evening was a fitting celebration, with the Awards Ceremony recognising the hard work and achievements of everyone involved. We were also delighted to hold a special Youth Cold Read Competition, after seeing just how enthusiastic our younger performers were to get involved. Their confidence, energy, and love for theatre were a real highlight of the weekend and a wonderful reminder of the future of our local performing arts community.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our audiences, volunteers, front-of-house team, technical crew, and everyone behind the scenes who helped make the festival such a success. Your support means the world to us.

Here's to another fantastic One Act Drama Festival—and to doing it all again in the future! 🎭🏆✨
