Chalkfest

Chalkfest Festivals of temporary street art created with chalk by artists of all ages and abilities

Now in its third year this unique street art festival brings together professional and amateur artists who will create elaborate artworks on the walls and pavements of Sittingbourne High Street. Over the weekend the artists will be showing off their skills to the public demonstrating the many different styles there are between them. It is a great opportunity to see artists at work and chat to them

about their methods. There will also be public chalking areas so you can even have a go yourself. Working in chalk, charcoal and pastels the artworks are just temporary so they will wash away when it rains, but for one whole weekend Sittingbourne High Street becomes a spectacular public art gallery so don't miss this FREE event! This event is run by Dean Tweedy of Marvellous Murals and funding is being negotiated, but if you wish to get involved or even sponsor an artist then please let us know.

We had a very successful mini chalkfest at the Teddy Bears Picnic at Borth Primary School today!

The children had a paving slab canvas each and were told to draw what makes them happy! There were certainly lots of happy faces!
