About Us:

At Clockwork Scenery, we bring bold ideas to life. The Role:

You’ll lead a diverse range of projects from brief to build, working closely with clients, designers, fabricators, and crew to ensure seamless delivery. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires strong technical understanding, sharp organisational skills, and a calm head under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage scenic build projects from initial brief through to installation
Liaise with clients, designers, and production managers to interpret and deliver creative vision
Oversee schedules, budgets, materials, and workshop resources
Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors, ensuring high-quality output
Plan and supervise installs both in the UK and abroad (including shipyards and onboard ships)
Ensure health & safety and compliance procedures are followed throughout
Problem-solve quickly and effectively during all stages of a project
About You:

Proven experience managing scenic construction projects for theatre, live events and/or cruise ships
Solid understanding of scenic materials, fabrication techniques, and rigging/logistics
Excellent communication and client-handling skills
Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings
Willing to travel occasionally for site visits and installs
A team player with a positive, solution-focused mindset
Bonus Points for:

CAD or technical drawing experience
IOSH or similar H&S certification
Knowledge of marine compliance or working in shipyard environments
What We Offer:

A dynamic and supportive working environment
The chance to work on exciting, varied, and high-profile projects
Opportunities to grow within a respected and forward-thinking company
To Apply:

Throwback to 2013. MV Rotterdam for Holland America.

John Gittins and I surveyed the stage with Push The Button end of Nov 2013 and we were building and delivering the sets by Mid December. There were 4 unique sets with LED, fibre optics, specialist laminates from Italy & various paint effects which all came together rather well!

It came in our 2nd year of trading and was our first foray into the world of Cruise. Since then we have gone on to work across many lines for various different production companies.

Our most recent work is currently in an Aeroplane on it's way to Sydney!

More on that another day!
