🗣Here's what audiences are saying so far:

"An excellent performance from all the cast. Very very entertaining."
👏👏👏
"Well first time in an age, we have been back to the theatre, I must say a little apprehensive at first, but everyone there was wearing masks, the performance was absolutely brilliant and funny all the way through, if you've got a spare evening this week, we can recommend you'll have an excellent night, we'll done to all the cast and members of FLT, certainly back with a bang."
👏👏👏
"What a great first performance, I wasn’t sure this would work when it was first announced but it’s a triumph. Laugh out loud, great timing and wonderful larger than life engaging performances. I haven’t seen Phil Harrison act before but a wonderful performance as the central character and the rest of the cast light up the theatre in these trying times. Get out the house and treat yourself to a memorable theatrical event."
👏👏👏
"Well what a welcome back performance that was! After such a horrid year or two with Covid it was nice to have some light hearted tongue in cheek humour from the amazing cast and crew of One Man Two Guvnors!"
👏👏👏

About the play…

An intense real-life thriller centred around the most important weather forecast in the history of warfare.

June 1944. One man's decision is about to change the course of history.

Everything is in place for the biggest invasion ever known in Europe – D-Day. One last crucial question remains: will the weather be right on the day?

Problematically there are two opposing forecasts. American celebrity weatherman Colonel Krick predicts sunshine, while Scot Dr James Stagg, Chief Meteorological Officer for the Allied Forces, forecasts a storm. As the world watches and waits, General Eisenhower, Allied Supreme Commander, must decide which of these bitter antagonists to trust. The decision will not only seal the fates of thousands of men, but could win or lose the entire war.

An extraordinary and little-known true story, David Haig's play thrillingly explores the responsibilities of leadership, the challenges of prophecy and the personal toll of taking a stand.

GLYN NEARY
Some of you may have heard of the sad news relating to the passing of Glyn Neary. Glyn was a regular volunteer at FLT and always had a friendly welcome to audiences whenever he worked behind the bar. Glyn was also active behind the scenes at FLT and regularly helped with set building and production preparation. Our thoughts are with Nicola and family. x

FUNERAL DETAILS
The following funeral details have been shared to a WhatsApp group set up by Sharron Knott:

Glyn's Funeral will be at 13.30 on
Thursday 19 August at:

Radcliffe Crematorium,
Cemetery Road,
Radcliffe.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, to British Lung Foundation (blf.org.uk) A donation can be made in Glyn's name:

Nicola has also posted:

"I think dad wouldn't want everyone in black, he likes colour so I think he'd want everyone to come in their everyday clothes. Thanks!"

Sharon continues:

"DRESS CODE IS FULL COLOUR!!"

We’re the only UK charity looking after the nation’s lungs. Together, we’re making sure that one day everyone will breathe clean air with healthy lungs.

Good evening, members, patrons and friends. We wanted to provide you with an update on the theatre and our plans for the coming months.
Behind the scenes, a great deal of work is taking place every day to maintain the theatre. There are also a number of big projects underway to ensure that when we are ready to re-open we will be in the best possible position, with some improvements to our facilities.
Sadly, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the January production, which was due to be One Man Two Guvnors. This would have required rehearsals to start next month, with a large cast and live band, and at the current time we do not feel it would be safe for this to go ahead. We will keep you updated with any news regarding productions as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding tickets, please contact our Box Office who will be happy to help.
We hope you are all keeping well, and we are looking forward to welcoming you all back to the theatre as soon.

Hello My name is Pete Lewis-Drake and I am a Canadian born playwright brought up in Lincolnshire, UK. I am writing to let you know about some of my work which I cordially invite you to sample. I am looking for an independent producer, a production company or theatre group (amateur or professional) to take on one or more of these scripts with a production in mind. I am happy for individuals to read them, but please understand that I am not looking to cast a play. Several of these pieces (GSOH, Autumn Winter Spring Summer and the monologues) are performable using social distancing, so may be of interest to a company looking to get going again with a limited audience. It should be pointed out that all of these may be done on an very low budget, too. If you like the sound of any of these, please contact me and I will send you either synopsis or script. My email address is [email protected] Thank you. Autumn Winter Spring Summer Four middle aged women meet regularly to discuss books and plays. Over time they learn that their monthly meeting means more to them than just a love of literature. Autumn Winter Spring Summer is a bitter - sweet comedy that requires four female actors. It requires little in the way of staging or props and has a simple soundtrack. There is an alternative version available, done in the style of a radio broadcast, which is performable in spaces other than traditional theatres and therefore a possible entry for a festival. GSOH GSOH is a light comedy about three middle aged men who, for various reasons, set up an es**rt agency. The play has been performed many times in the North East and does require a Geordie accent for authenticity. It would be possible to tweak the script to allow for a different regional accent to be used. Cast: three men in middle age and one slightly younger female (who could double two smaller female roles). There is a short version of the play suitable for a one act festival. The Prisoner’s Friend A drama set in the First World War that tells the tale of a man required to defend a soldier accused of cowardice. The Prisoner’s Friend requires a large, mixed cast with some doubling possible. There are roles for younger as well as older actors. The play is also available as a monologue, a version of which was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2004. What Ever Happened To Johnny Diamond? WEHTJD? is a dark comedy for two youngish men, although could be played by women. Set on a desert island, it tells the story of a concept artist/performed (think David Blaine) who exiles himself only to be discovered accidentally by a tourist. Bodyguard A fifteen minute monologue for mature female. Set in a school it tells of a fifty something teacher falsely accused of an assault. Bodyguard was a finalist in the Off Cuts Festival at the Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington a few years ago. There is also a version of the monologue available which could be played by a female in her thirties. Thank you for reading this far and I do hope to hear from you soon. Please feel free to forward this to anyone you think would be interested. Pete L-D.
This week's free script is a full length play. Three sisters reunite in their old Lancashire home after their mother's funeral. They've all chosen different paths in life - but what is the dark secret they all share? And what of the new generation; Zack, Morgan and Cassie? Are they ready to face the truth about their family - and themselves? https://freescriptfinder.com/script-details/?pdb=17
#REVIEW - One Man, Two Guvnors at Farnworth Little Theatre "starts at a pace that doesn’t slow until the final curtain falls"
Good Luck with your play. Past President NODA
Are you looking for a new and original play? Then why not check out my website! I'm a Devon based playwright with over 100 plays to my name! https://www.rfwscripts.co.uk/ With full length, one acts, short plays and monologues I have something for everyone! I've had productions across the UK and internationally.
After many happy years at FLT, in 2012 Lisa Barlow and me formed a community theatre group in Little Hulton to put something back into my home town. We performed a few "Two Handers" to get the group going. 9 years later the group is thriving and has won awards from the GMDF and ACT. In 2014 we performed "Educating Rita" and 7 years on we are reprising our roles. We would be honoured if our friends and audience members who remember us, would come along to support us and see what we have created. Directed by Simon Darlington the play is going to be special.
Congratulations to one and all last night. Well done.
It's Monday, which means that we have more of your brilliant performances opening this week!
