After months of preparation, rehearsals and plenty of hard work behind the scenes, our production of Ayub Khan-Din’s modern classic is now on stage.

Following the success of The Trials, we want to shine a spotlight on the work behind the scenes that made our production as sustainable as possible!

Guided by the Theatre Green Book, we are incredibly proud to say that a massive 95% of all materials were made from recycled, reused, or recycled content across the production of The Trials. Along with this, 98% of materials post-production were recycled or used as recycled materials. 🌍

We can't stop thinking about Family Festival 2026 ✨

Looking back at this incredible weekend, we're reminded of just how important accessible arts experiences are for local families.

For many of the young people who joined us, this may have been their very first experience of theatre. From watching a live performance to taking part in creative workshops, every moment was an opportunity to discover something new, build confidence, and create lasting memories.

At the Octagon, we believe theatre is for everyone, and seeing our spaces filled with families laughing, learning and connecting was a powerful reminder of why that matters.

As we get ready to celebrate 60 years of bringing people together, we thought it was time for a little refresh. New colours, new look… AND, we’ve even straightened the logo 😱
