Right people, quick one.
I'm getting to a point now where I'm seriously considering not tattooing clients who use numbing cream before their appointment.
I completely understand why people use it, and I get that it makes the tattooing process more comfortable for you. The problem is that lately I've been seeing more and more reactions to it. I'm not sure if it's a bad batch of products doing the rounds in the UK or what, but it's causing some clients' skin to become extremely red, swollen and irritated.
When the skin flares up like that, it can make tattooing much harder. In some cases, it feels like the skin is actually trying to push the ink back out, which affects the quality of the tattoo and the way it heals.
At the end of the day, I want every tattoo leaving my studio to be the best quality possible, and unfortunately I'm finding that numbing cream is starting to have a negative impact on that.
So I'm asking, if possible, that clients come without numbing cream and go a little bit old school. I'd much rather work on healthy skin and give you the best tattoo I can, than fight against a reaction that's affecting the final result.
Thanks for understanding, and as always, my priority is giving you the best tattoo possible.
