Dear customers,
This is an important notice of upcoming changes at Pulse Music Studios and we would request that you read this thoroughly.
As most of you should know by now, we will be moving over to a booking system in the coming weeks. At the moment, we are currently building up our database of customers, grabbing e-mail addresses for booking confirmations, testing the system, and the current hope is to have the new website and booking system up and running before the end of the month.
Why have we decided to go down this route? The new system will allow you the customer to look online and see what slots are available and, if there is one which is suitable for your band, you can book it there and then, saving you time contacting the studios and relaying the info over to other members of the band and then having to call back to book. Payment would be made there and then, and you would have confirmation of the booking.
Why do we need payment up front? Simple, without it, anyone could book as many slots as they liked and block out everyone else and of course, simply not turn up anyway.
One simple method. Just one. Rather than whatsapp, messenger, email, mobile and landline phone calls, texts, twitter, Instagram or sticking a note through the letterbox! To say we have had problems with these other methods is an understatement, Facebook has on occasion told customers that messages were not available, messages have been sent directly to staff who were on holiday, notes have gone missing, to name just a few.
Many of the other studios in the area have gone down this route as it streamlines a few procedures, maximises room usage and hopefully will allow us to reduce costs.
It is our intention therefore, to offer a new hourly rate of £18 per hour – a reduction in the cost to you of 10% from the 1st of September. For a band practicing 2 hours for 45 weeks per year, this will save them £180 – the equivalent of 10 free practices! Obviously we can’t promise to keep it at £18 forever as each year brings an increase in rent, electricity, wages etc, but hopefully you get the point. Our electricity contract is up for renewal in October and the outcome of this will dictate whether we can continue at that price.
We will also be using Sum Up instead of Zettle which will allow those who wish to pay split payments for their next bookings at the studios, (mixing between cash and card) will now be able to do so.
Obviously, there are some issues to iron out. For instance we can’t expect clients who have recurring bookings to have to pay for all of their practices for the whole year, so those customers will only need to pay in advance for the next booking in our diary. If you are one of our regular recurring clients, please ensure that you let us know well in advance if you plan to take a break for a week or two so any payment can be credited to your next booking. Please feel free to speak with a staff member for clarification.
From the 17th of August we will be taking advance payments for all bookings for the week of the 24th of August and beyond. This means Recurring customers will need to make payment for their booking on the 17th and then if they wish to continue their recurring slot, pay for their next booking as well. All other customers will also need to pay in advance for any bookings from the 24th of August onwards. At the moment, until the website goes live, this will be handled with payment links or in studio in cash or on card.
Thank you for reading this update, and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
