Rehearsals for Elf begin on Wednesday 4th May at 8 pm. at the Side Club, Newsham.
Preliminary rehearsal will be books (refundable deposit required), introduction to the music, and meet old and new friends.
(We have an important concert in 4 weeks and will be rehearsing for that from 7-7.45 pm hence the 8 pm start) .
Short audition will be needed so we can get a good balance of vocal ranges.
Paid membership of Beaconsfield is required to cover insurances etc.
Let us know if you're interested in taking part or helping with our production of Elf the Musical! We need not only cast, but willing helpers too.
Are you keen on helping with wardrobe in particular? Assisting with props? Backstage? (Voluntary, unpaid, do it for the love of theatre).
We need many cogs to make the Elf wheel turn!
Either comment below or leave a message.
Rehearsals start at the beginning of May, on a Wednesday night, at the Side Club, Newsham.
πCome along and see our 'Elf' Tree! And our Christmas concert at 6.45pm on Wednesday night, free entry π
Unfortunately our committee have made the sensible decision to cancel Jekyll & Hyde in October this year, 2021. Given all the uncertainties that still surround covid and the re-opening of theatres and when we would be able to safely re-start rehearsals, we feel that this is the right decision for 2021.
We are very excited that our next production will now be Elf the Musical in October 2022! Watch this space for more information on rehearsals and when tickets go on sale!
It's hard to believe that tonight should have been our opening night of this year's production, Jekyll and Hyde π with theatre in our hearts, it's been a tough 6 months with no show rehearsals, no excitement of costumes and dressing rooms, no dancing, no cake sales (although I'm sure no-one has missed the audition process and line learning!), but we are all safe and sound and to quote another society - "this isn't the final curtain, it is only the interval"
Only a year to wait until opening night, with our rescheduled dates of Tuesday 5th to Saturday 9th October 2021, we can't wait to welcome you all back to the theatre and the wonderful world of musicals!

We're very sad to announce that due to uncertainty about when this crazy world will get back to normality, and we can mix with each other again, we have had no choice but to postpone Jekyll & Hyde.
This will now take place from Tuesday 5th to Saturday 9th October 2021.
This is a great disappointment to the Society as a whole, but we will stay together, sing together, and have some fun fundraising events to see us through until we can start rehearsals "proper" next May.
Stay safe until then, and keep in touch!
Tickets available now for our October production. If you wish to be part of production, rehearsals start in May, more information coming soon!
Jekyll & Hyde, with music by multi Grammy and Tony nominated Frank Wildhorn who has composed a fantastic vocal score including the standout number βThis is the momentβ, and book and lyrics by double Oscar and Grammy winner Leslie Bricusse, is an epic story of love and the struggle between good and evil.
Based on the classic thriller by Robert Louis Stephenson, in trying to find a cure for his fatherβs mental illness Dr. Jekyll makes himself the subject of his own experiments and inadvertently creates an alternate personality of pure evil. As his fiancΓ©e Emma grows increasingly concerned, Jekyll must race to find a cure before the demon he has created takes over his mind completely.
