Heritage Opening Days is just around the corner, and we can't wait to share what we have planned!
Map Room Mock-up Days: Friday 11th September - sunday 20th September,
(Time varies per day please see the website for opening times)
Join members of the Land of Oak & Iron Story team to learn more about its vision for an improved heritage experience at the Heritage Centre in Winlaton Mill.
This event provides an opportunity for those interested in the Land of Oak & Iron Trust’s vision to come and meet the team, see the space, discuss the proposals, and find out more about volunteering to help the Trust deliver its mission.
Research Group Drop-in: Tuesday 15th September, 1:30pm - 4pm
The Land of Oak & Iron Trust aims to engage with the public to get involved, exploring the area’s rich heritage and landscapes through educational and cultural initiatives.
This event is a chance to meet members of the Research Group, explore what has already been mapped and documented, and think about what may still be left to discover. We will be inviting new volunteers to join through this event, so if you are interested, please consider signing up after attending.
Community Sharing Event: Sunday 20th September, 10am-4pm
Bring along your family history and heritage to spark conversations with the Land of Oak & Iron Trust. We’re excited to see pictures, diaries, journals, letters, heirlooms, and anything else you find fascinating about your past. We won’t ask to keep anything, just discuss and document it where appropriate.
