Sun has been shining this week and we’ve been in a cherry blossom painting kind of mood 🌸☀️
Here’s what we’ve been learning in this gorgeous art lesson:
🎨 Exploring the artist Damien Hirst
🖌️ Practising painting techniques like blending and stippling
🌅 Creating a beautiful gradient sky background (with a little maths too — finding 1/3 and 2/3 of the page!)
🌳 Growing our vocabulary with brilliant branch descriptions like gnarly, crooked, and twisted
Amazing how much learning can be squeezed into an hour of creativity and fun with friends 😁🌸✨

This post comes with the biggest thank you to everyone who contributed to our very first Pop Up Art Show and helped make it such an incredible success!
First of all, thank you to every one of our amazing young artists who shared their wonderful creativity, passion, and outstanding effort. You filled the show with so much colour, wonder, and joy — and I couldn’t be prouder to be your art club teacher. 🎨💛
A massive thank you as well to all the parents and families who came along with so much enthusiasm and who continue to support our club week in, week out. You are helping us build the most amazing little creative community, and I am so grateful for your support.
Thank you to for providing the most incredible space to host and display our art show. (If you haven’t checked out the Blantyre Community Trust Hub yet, it’s a fabulous local facility and well worth a visit!) Without the amazing work of this organisation, we wouldn’t have found the home of our little studio — we are so thankful. You guys are AMAZING! 🙌

Bauhaus was the theme at collage club this month and it was just gorgeous. 🔴🔵🟡⚫️⚪️
I love setting a brief and watching everyone’s creativity come to life in completely different ways.
Thanks to all the beautiful people who came long and got creative with me - you’re all helping me build this little dream of mine and I’m so grateful. 🥰
