Two months and we are on stage for our 25th Pantomime "Heroes of Olympus". Its coming along nicely.

The Tarrant Valley Players Present “HEROES OF OLYMPUS”. Set in 400 BCE. The Gods of Olympus are preparing to welcome their enemy Hades to celebrate a new alliance between Olympus and the Underworld. However, Zeus' “King of the Gods” feisty daughter Diana suspects Hades’ intentions are not peaceful. Whilst Zeus, Hera, and Venus "Goddess of Love" prepare for Hades’ and his demons Coeus and Crius arrival, Diana with the help of, her brother Apollo "God of Wisdom" (Apparently), Dalia (Dianas Apprentice) and Cupid "God of Love", they travel to the Underworld to find out what Hades has planned…
Filled with songs, dances, plenty of comedy and lots of audience participation, Heroes of Olympus is a fun packed adventure Pantomime for the whole family.

It is now time for auditions for our next Pantomime "HEROES OF OLYMPUS" written by our very own (and very talented) Pippa Deketelaere.

HEROES OF OLYMPUS is set in 400 BCE on Olympus, and Zeus and the other gods are preparing to welcome their enemy Hades up to Olympus to celebrate a new alliance between Olympus and the Underworld. However, Zeus’ feisty daughter Diana suspects Hades’ intentions are not peaceful. She leads a group of brave (sort of) heroes to the Underworld to investigate, while Zeus, Hera, and Venus prepare for Hades’ arrival. Meanwhile, the overworked and underpaid Messengers plan a revolution…

There are 22 Characters.

Zeus – King of the Gods. Imposing and dignified. Male
Hera – Queen of the Gods. Has a short temper and gets jealous easily. Female
Poseidon – God of the Seas. Zeus’ brother. Kinda stinky… Male (or female)
Venus – Goddess of love. Men fall at her feet. Dame! Singing role
Diana – Goddess of hunting. Brave and determined. Female, singing role
Dalia – Apprentice to Diana. Female, singing role
Apollo – God of wisdom. To be the ‘village idiot’ type character. Male (or female)
Cupid – God of love. Handsome, self-obsessed, and cowardly. Male, singing role
Hades – Big baddie. Lord of the Underworld. Wants to kill Zeus and take over Olympus. Male
Coeus (co-us) and Crius (cry-us) – Hades' demon underlings. Male or female

MESSENGERS - Male or female, group singing role
Hermes – Leader of the messengers.
Messenger 1
Messenger 2 – Head of the messengers’ union.
Messengers 3, 4

CHORUS
Jailors 1 and 2 – (1: no lines) (2: falls in love with Cupid)
Girls 1 and 2 – falls in love with Cupid.
Socrates - philosopher. Male or female
Teenager - 21st century girl

Open Auditions are being held at The Anne Biddlecombe Hall, Tarrant Keyneston on Wednesday the 27th August at 7pm and Sunday the 31st August at 1.30pm.

We are also on look out for anyone interested in helping out behind the scenes eg. Stage Management, Scene Changes, Set Painting, Props, Tech, Front of house etc.
