We’re excited to share our new artwork for Treekin, illustrated by the brilliant Keri Green 🎨

Since first bringing the show to life last year, Treekin has continued to grow and evolve through workshops and sharings in schools and outdoors, with new ideas, discoveries and ways of bringing nature to life through imagination and play.

This week, we’re back in rehearsals, developing the show further and getting ready for our next adventure…

Join us at We The Curious this Saturday! We’ll be bringing Treekin to Bristol’s home of curiosity for a playful performance and miniature craft-along, where natural objects come to life through imagination and creativity.

This Saturday, we're bringing The Enchanted Wardrobe to Good Grief Festival in Weston-Super-Mare.

What do we feel when the landscapes we love begin to change?

The Enchanted Wardrobe invites you on a journey through thousands of years of Mendip history, from the Ice Age to the present day, and into an uncertain future. Step inside the magical, time-travelling wardrobe and listen to an immersive audio journey through the landscapes, creatures and people that have shaped the Mendip Hills.

As our climate changes, so too will the places we know and love. The experience offers a moment to reflect on ecological grief, the feelings of loss, worry and uncertainty that can come with witnessing environmental change, while also asking us to imagine what we want to carry forward. What might the Mendips look like in 2036? What could we protect, nurture and help flourish? And what new possibilities might we create for the landscapes, people and wildlife we love?

We’re very excited to announce that we'll be creating the finale of Portsmouth100! 🎉

Introducing Colour Loft, a large-scale, participatory artwork created and produced by Trigger, transforming Portsmouth Guildhall from 8-10 January 2027.

Inspired by Portsmouth’s historic colour lofts, where skilled women made the sails, flags and signals that helped connect Portsmouth to the wider world, Colour Loft brings this history into the present.

People across the city will be invited to make, stitch and create their own flags, bringing them together as part of one spectacular artwork.

In a time when flags can feel loaded with meaning, we’re interested in their potential to connect rather than divide, creating a space where Portsmouth’s many voices can come together, piece by piece, to create something shared.

Bringing together colour, light, sound, movement, making and stories from the city’s past, Colour Loft will create a spectacular finale to Portsmouth100.

A little look at what we’ve been up to at Humanity Club this September 🌿

We’ve been making the most of the warmer months with guided walks through the Mendip Hills, getting to know the landscape, learning about local wildlife and foraging, and spending time together outdoors.

We also joined the brilliant Big Community Squash Harvest at The Community Farm, volunteering alongside local people to pick squash in the sunshine, followed by a very welcome bowl of homemade soup

It’s been a summer of exploring new places, trying new things, meeting people and building connections through shared experiences.

Last weekend, we opened the doors to our newest project, The Enchanted Wardrobe, at Ebbor Gorge ✨

Created and produced by Trigger in partnership with Mendip Hills National Landscape, The Enchanted Wardrobe is a creative invitation to think about the future of this extraordinary landscape.

Step inside and you’ll be taken on an audio journey through the Mendip Hills, travelling from the Ice Age to the present day, reflecting on how the landscape around us has changed over time and asking important questions about what comes next.

Visitors are invited to step into another world, explore the history of the place around them, and then share their own thoughts about what they want the Mendip Hills to be in the future. Those responses will feed into Mendip Hills National Landscape’s work as they look at how the landscape can respond to climate change and how it can be cared for over the next decade.

We’re now taking the wardrobe to communities across the Mendip Hills throughout October, creating small moments of magic while asking some important questions about the place we call home. 🌿✨

⭐ This Saturday! ⭐

We’re so excited to welcome you back to FEASTING this Saturday at Shipham Village Hall for another magical afternoon of bringing people together through the shared language of food. Join us as we create a warm and welcoming space to meet, share, eat and celebrate the many cultures and communities that make up North Somerset.

We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be joined by the incredible Özcan Ateş, who will be performing a selection of traditional Turkish and Kurdish folk songs alongside his own original compositions.

And, of course, there’ll be something delicious to eat! The amazing Moveable Feast will be joining us once again, serving up a delicious Cameroonian feast for everyone to enjoy.

The afternoon will feature food, music, arts workshops and games, with opportunities to connect, meet new people, have fun and enjoy a meal together.

Want to spend a Saturday meeting new people, learning new skills and being part of something creative?

Trigger are looking for volunteers to join us at FEASTING at Shipham Hall on Saturday 10 October.

FEASTING is part of Trigger’s Humanity Club programme, bringing people together through food, creativity, music and conversation. Volunteers are at the heart of making events like FEASTING, and projects like Humanity Club, possible. From helping set up and welcome people, to supporting activities and creating a friendly atmosphere, volunteers help create a space where people can come together, try something new and feel part of something.

Poppet is back!

Come and meet Poppet, a giant curious creature. Poppet has travelled all the way to Barking Riverside from the Ashdown Forest. Poppet will be delighting and inspiring us to see the magic in nature. Let’s explore, play and discover how we can care for the world around us.

Poppet was created by Trigger’s Creative Director Angie Bual in collaboration with renowned costume designer Jack Irving and Olivier Award Winning Theatre Maker Laura Cubitt.

Poppet is at the heart of a project called The Big One Hundred. The project was created and produced by Trigger to celebrate the centenary of the Hundred Acre Wood and inspire children to connect with nature. The Big One Hundred was supported by Wealden District Council, Arts Council England and The Ashdown Forest Foundation.

Trigger is looking for an experienced Stage Manager to lead the smooth operational delivery of our exciting new project during rehearsals and the live event.

The project is an interactive experience rather than a traditional performance.

The Stage Manager will act as the central operational lead during live delivery, coordinating audiences, performers, community groups, participatory activity and technical teams.

The ideal applicant would be based in Portsmouth or the surrounding area.
