Valentina Casu am a Mother in Blackpool Calls for Justice and Support for Her Premature Baby
We are a family in Blackpool facing a difficult battle. Our baby girl was born prematurely at 30 weeks, on November 14, and today she fights like a warrior in the neonatal unit (NICU) at Blackpool Hospital.
I, the mother, can prove that I am healthy and do not suffer from mental health issues. For months, my partner and I have been fighting for our rights as tenants and workers, but our landlord and the agency have ignored their responsibilities, threatening us and even attempting to break into our shop.
Despite the sacrifices, we continue to pay and respect our commitments with the government, which trusted us by funding our business. But the truth is that we live under pressure and stress, and this contributed to the premature birth of our daughter.
We ask for help from the community:
Share this message and tag the Blackpool Gazette and other local newspapers.
Check your emails and support our case so that the authorities take action.
Help us find a lawyer who can bring our evidence to court and defend our rights.
Donate, even pennies make a difference, to the neonatal unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital: the nurses and doctors welcomed us, protected us, and gave us a room to stay close to our baby. They deserve new resources and more training to help other parents like us.
This is not only our story: it is a social denunciation against landlords and agencies who only care about money and do not take responsibility for tenants.
We do this for our daughter and for all families who should never have to watch their children fight for her life.
