This week we held our quarterly network meeting in Blackpool.

A huge thank you to Lightworks — the home of the Blackpool Illuminations and Lightpool for hosting us - both in-person and online!

This was an especially exciting meeting as we celebrated confirmation of our new Arts Council England funding for the next two years.

We had a number of brilliant discussions around our plans to support emerging light artists, co-commission new works, and continue raising the profile of the light art sector as a whole.

👀 Exciting times ahead - watch this space!

Blackpool has been named on the longlist for UK City of Culture 2029. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase what makes our town unique while helping shape a vision for the future of Blackpool.

The bid team brings together Blackpool’s major cultural organisations, independent creatives, Blackpool Council, key businesses and tourism bodies.

We’ve written a short survey to gather your experiences and views to feed into the bid. Your feedback will help us understand what culture means to people locally, what matters most, and how it can benefit residents, communities, and businesses.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and help ensure your views are heard.

☑️ Survey closes 5 July - link in comments
