We are looking forward to welcoming IDTA Patron, Simon Green to present the IDTA Musical Theatre Awards this weekend.

Simon Green is a celebrated dancer, performer, and choreographer whose career spans over four decades. Starting his journey at age 11 in Oxfordshire, Simon won numerous competitions before joining The Generation Theatre Company. By 20, he debuted in London’s West End, quickly rising to prominence as the lead tap dancer in On Your Toes. His extensive stage credits include 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Chicago, Anything Goes, and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Simon also gained fame as his alter ego, Betty Legs Diamond, performing across the UK and starring at Blackpool’s iconic Funny Girls for over 30 years. His career highlights include seven Royal Variety Performances, TV appearances, and mentoring the original Jamie: Drag Queen at 16, inspiring the hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

Named an IDTA patron in 2023, Simon is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and inspiring the next generation of dancers.

ANTONY EDWARDS.

Antony trained at Phil Winston’s Theatreworks in Blackpool, graduating as a member of the I.D.T.A with full teaching qualifications. Theatre credits include Assistant Choreographer, Dance Captain, Cowboy, Father Christmas and dad in The Snowman (West End and UK Tour), assistant choreographer, Aladdin (Gala Theatre, Durham), Spirit of the dance (Niagara Falls), Rock around the clock (Asia Tour), Timmy’s Mother, Shawn The Sheep (International Tour), Dance Captain, Musical Starnights (European Tour), Sultan, Dick Whittington (Llandudno), Assistant Dance Captain, Snow White (Doncaster), Captain, Oliver! (Alexander Theatre, Birmingham), Young Ebenezer, Scrooge (Alexander Theatre, Birmingham), assistant dance captain, QM2 and Queen Victoria for Belinda King Productions, assistant dance captain, Caribbean Princess and Sapphire Princess cruise line, Conseula in The Murder at Goodbottom Manor, Little Chico Productions.

Meet our vocal warmup coach Justine Lee
Justine is thrilled to be back this year to work with our finalists!!!!

Justine trained in Musical Theatre at Arts Ed and the AMTA. After an eleven year career as a professional performer, Justine moved back to her hometown of Mansfield to focus on teaching, direction and choreography. She is now co-principal of the Lisa Gail Theatre School and resident choreographer for TaleGate Theatre Productions, a children’s theatre company that tours nationwide and performs in the west end. Last year Justine made her directorial debut with the Nottingham Operatic Society’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and will be directing Chess for the society in October of this year. Justine is qualified at Fellowship level with the IDTA and has fifteen years experience teaching all ages at dance schools and colleges throughout the UK.
