The days are stretching.
The light is creeping back in.
And so are we.
If January has felt heavy, here is a simple spell to lift the fog and welcome the returning light.
You will need:
One white or yellow candle
A small bowl of warm water
A pinch of salt
Something that makes you smile (a photo, a crystal, a feather, a shell…)
The Spell:
Add the pinch of salt to the warm water and stir clockwise three times.
Light your candle and say:
“As the light returns to the sky,
Light returns to me.
What feels heavy may soften.
What feels dark may ease.
I welcome warmth.
I welcome hope.
I welcome brighter days.
So mote it be”
Dip your fingers into the salted water and gently touch your forehead and heart.
Hold your little joyful object and take three slow breaths.
Blow out the candle with gratitude.

✨ Winter Solstice Blessings ✨
Today we greet the Winter Solstice, the longest night and the quiet turning of the year.
The darkness reaches its deepest point… and from here, the light begins its slow return.
This is not a time to rush or force new beginnings.
It’s a time to rest, to release, and to honour all that this year has asked of you.
The lessons learned, the grief carried, the strength you didn’t realise you had.
Light a candle if you can — even a small one — and let it remind you that hope doesn’t arrive loudly.
It returns softly, steadily, faithfully. 🌟
May you be gentle with yourself today.
May you release what no longer needs to be carried into the next cycle.
May the returning light warm your heart, your home, and your spirit.
