Due to the extreme heat, it has been suggested we open the village hall in Bishop Sutton Village where we have air-conditioning in the upstairs Taylor Room. You need to be aware, you need to climb some stairs to this room as the stair lift is not available.

Before confirming this will go ahead, we need to know if this will be worthwhile and people wish to avail themselves of this facility. We have a volunteer who is willing to be there to assist (there will be no charge for this service - although you can make a donation if you wish! 😉). We can probably offer cold, flavoured drinks too.

We can have this Cool-Space open this Wednesday and/or Friday and next week Tuesday to Friday.

Please let us know if you wish to partake, the day and time you would want to come if we made the cool place available.

The Duck Shack Cafe is freshly painted and refurbed and open for business at Bishop Sutton Village Hall! Penny Cornell has given the kitchen a crisp new look and added equipment for both large events and everyday use — new commercial fridge, warming cupboards, freezer and plenty of shelving. Good news from Bishop Sutton & Stowey Village Hall — we’ve upgraded the seating! After sorting through 249 second‑hand banquet chairs, volunteers found 150 comfy ones, cleaned them, and stored them ready for your next visit. Our village hall just got a fresh new look — and it’s all thanks to volunteers! Join us in thanking Penny, Justin and Shep for transforming the bar into the charming “Malted Duck” and repainting the main hall.
