Founded in 2005, The Andreas Ensemble provides a special opportunity to perform the great polyphonic masterpieces of the Renaissance alongside more recent pieces, some folksongs and madrigals in a lighter vane.

We're currently enjoying singing music by Tye, Lassus, Tallis, Victoria, Handl, Viadana, Byrd, plus works by Bruckner (b.1824) and Stanford (+1924), both of whom have anniversaries this year.

Are you interested in joining The Andreas Ensemble? We’re currently recruiting new members in all voice parts! Rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm - 9:15pm in the glorious acoustic of St. Mary's RC Church, Bishop Auckland.

We've had a lovely afternoon singing at our "Come and have a sing with us" event. We sang some of the pieces that we've been rehearsing recently, plus some choral favourites such as Ave Verum Corpus (Mozart & Byrd).

If you missed this event, there's still an opportunity to come along to our open night at our regular choir rehearsal on Tuesday, 10th October at 7pm! Look forward to seeing you!

St. Mary’s RC Church, Bishop Auckland, in the early evening sunshine - this where The Andreas Ensemble rehearse every Tuesday evening and it’s also the location for our “Come along and have a sing with us” events on the 8th & 10th of October!
