Pinball Tip 3 - Ski Pass / Flip Pass
Hey folks. Okay, our third pinball tip helping you slow things down and gain that all important ball control so you can make better shots.
There are two parts to this one so lets break them down.
1. Ski Pass
If the ball is coming down the in-lane, with enough pace, you can simply hold up the flipper and the ball will jump over to the other side where you can catch it and cradle it (or just make a more controlled shot).
2. Flip Pass / Nudge
If the ball is coming a little too slow and won't make the hop over to the other side you have a few options here.
Firstly you can nudge the machine up just as the ball first hits the flipper to give it a little more (see the first of the two videos in the comments).
Secondly, you can use a micro flip when the ball hits the end of the flipper to give the ball a tiny little bump to make it over (see the second video in the comments).
Some tips:
1. Practice - every machine is different
2. Experiment with nudges and microflips and see what works best for a given situation.
This is another simple skill that will help you slow things down, gain control and improve your game!
Remember, the best way to practice these techniques is at a freeplay pinball arcade like Pinball Factory! :)
Another tip next week!
