As we prepare to come together for the very first time this July, we’re excited to build more than just an orchestra.

We want to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive musical community where everyone feels they belong, regardless of background, identity, or experience.

This Pride Month, we celebrate diversity and the LGBTQ+ community, and we look forward to making music with people from all walks of life.

Our Tenor section is falling over themselves to meet you... literally. 🎷😴

We’re looking for more Tenor 3 players to join the Saxophone Orchestra Birmingham! If you’re around Grade 3-5 and want to play in a massive saxophone ensemble, we have a chair with your name on it.
Come for the music, stay for the laughs (and the horizontal support).

P.S don’t worry if you’ve never played in a group before. Our Tenor 3 section is led by a professional saxophonist who will guide you through the weekend and support you each step of the way!

Meet Adam: the arranger, social media manager and assistant conductor of the Saxophone Orchestra Birmingham!!

Adam’s musical background and education started as child in his local brass band. After discovering a passion for singing, Adam went onto to study Music and German at Cardiff University with his main musical foci being Voice, Ethnomusicology and Composition.

Following his studies, he went onto Canterbury Christchurch University to complete a PGCE and is now working in a secondary school in Oldham.

Away from the classroom Adam still plays in brass bands, gigs as a freelance musician, is a published composer and arranger of brass band and choral music in the UK and USA and is the Musical Director of the Poynton Royal British Legion Concert Band.

Since joining the Saxophone Orchestra Manchester he now focuses on arranging music that is accessible for all levels of saxophonists, creating pieces that are enjoyable to play and fun listen to. Adam is now excited to bring this music to our new ensemble in Birmingham
