Save the date! BEDLAM - the arts and mental health partnership - returns for 2026 with a 2 day Symposium exploring arts, wellbeing and mental health. In partnership with Birmingham Rep, Sampad and Midlands Arts Centre.
For 2026 BEDLAM focusses on artist wellbeing, with a programme of talks, workshops, discussions and performances.
Highlights include:
- Keynote speech from the team behind LGBTQTeeHee!, The Rep's trailblazing LGBTQ+ comedy programme that's turning lived experience into laughter, building community, and proving that joy can be a powerful tool for wellbeing.
-Networking and artist training opportunities
-Panel discussions and Q & As with leading industry voices
-Discussion and practical workshop exploring Birmingham Rep’s Theatre, Sanctuary and Wellbeing work
-Let’s Dance workshop from Sampad South Asian Arts and Heritage
-Paper weaving craft workshop with Nilupa Yasmin
-Premiere of Sampad’s new production ‘Can We Talk?’ exploring the relationship between young people, AI & mental health
