The launch night for The Little Mermaid is ✨️TOMORROW ✨

This is a chance to meet the fantastic production team and hear all about their vision for the show. Our directors will talk you through the roles available, our musical director will introduce you to the audition songs, and our choreographer will lead a dance workshop! It's going to be a packed evening and we can't WAIT to get started 🧜‍♀️

The launch will begin at 7.30pm, and take place at St Mary's Church, Bristol Road, Selly Oak, B29 6ND. Once you turn into the driveway, go all the way to the end and up a path on your left - the hall is through the gate at the end. Make sure you wear clothes you can easily move in, and bring a bottle of water.

Thank you to everyone who attended our AGM yesterday evening. It is always lovely to reflect on everything we have achieved in the past year but this one was particularly poignant as it was our first without our former Co-President Stella. We paid tribute to her with a lovely speech from her daughter Helen and a one-minute standing ovation in her honour, and we know she was with us in spirit ❤️ We have also renamed our annual award to ‘The Stella Rourke Award for Outstanding Contribution’ - huge congratulations to this year’s winners Rebecca Eastwood and Rebeka Nagy (pictured here) and thanks again for all of the energy and support you have given and continue to give to the Arcadians. Congratulations also to our new Life Member Barry Matthews, and huge thanks for all your contributions to the company since 1974.

Do you love singing, dancing, acting and being part of something magical? 🐚🎶
Whether you’re an experienced performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, we’d love to welcome YOU to our theatre family.

We are a friendly, amateur musical theatre group based in Selly Oak and we’re accepting new members for our production of The Little Mermaid to be performed at the Crescent Theatre on 26th-28th November 2026!

We aim to build a world that represents the diversity of our area and welcome and encourage adults of all ages, ethnicities and gender identities to audition for all roles. We are especially keen to recruit performers to fill male principal and ensemble roles. We are holding an information evening and company workshop on 2nd June where you will meet the production team, current members and find out all the exciting information about this show, as well as taking part in an informal singing and dancing workshop!

Important dates:
Show dates: 26-28 November
Launch Night and Company Workshop: 2nd June 19:30
Solo Singing and Group Acting auditions: 9th June (Timings to follow)
Read-through rehearsal: 16th June
Rehearsals: Every Tuesday and Thursday between 19:00 and 22:00

PERFORMING MEMBERSHIP COSTS - Autumn production
-£175 or £25/month - Performing waged member
-£140 or £20/month - Performing unwaged member
-£28 or £4/month - Non-performing member

For Autumn production: fees to be paid from June to December

Fees can be paid in one payment by the end of the first month of production, or in monthly instalments.

What a wonderful weekend we had performing Chapters of a Lifetime! A huge thank you to everyone who came to watch, support and cheer us on - we loved having you in the audience!
