The Arcadians Musical Theatre Company is based in Selly Oak, Birmingham, UK, where we have been putting on top-quality shows since 1971. Meet Leeward - Marilyn Moorhouse 🐟

Marilyn has been with Arcadians since this time last year. She enjoyed being in her first pantomime and the Chapters of a Lifetime concert earlier this year.

She thinks one of her favourite roles she’s played was an elderly flower among other roles in the Snow Queen pantomime.

She is really looking forward to the Little Mermaid and she just knows that Arcadians are going to bring that special magic that they always do.

Meet Windward - Annabel Roberts 🐟

Annabel joined the Arcadians in 2022. She enjoys dancing, having learned ballet, tap, ballroom and ice dancing as a child, and continued taking ballroom classes as an adult. She has taken part in several Arcs concerts which she found very enjoyable, and also worked backstage on our production of Legally Blonde as the official Dog Officer. In 2024 she performed with us in both ‘9 to 5’ and ‘Grease’ as part of the ensemble.

As someone who tends to see the funny side of most situations, she thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Arcs’ Snow Queen pantomime in November 2026, when she played the role of Caw the Raven. She is very much looking forward to taking on the role of Windward (one of the heralds of King Triton’s court) in our forthcoming production of The Little Mermaid.

Meet Pilot - Frank Foley 👨‍✈️

Frank has been a member of the Arcadians for many years and is, in fact, the oldest member of the cast of The Little Mermaid. His role in this production is as Pilot and part of the chef team. This is a comedic role which appeals to Frank’s personality.

Previously Frank’s favourite roles have been Parish Priest in Sister Act and the notorious Nicely Nicely in Guys and Dolls. As always he is looking forward to getting on stage with his fellow Arcadians and sharing the fun with you all.

Meet Jetsam - Gemma Lee 🐍

Gemma has been part of The Arcadians MTC since 2015 and has performed in various shows and concerts over the years. She has been involved in musical theatre since 2011 and completed singing grades in her youth. Gemma’s favourite roles to date include playing Kathy in Disco Inferno and more recently Rufus the Reindeer in last year’s pantomime.

Gemma is an avid Disney fan and has professed a love of The Little Mermaid from a young age. When asked who her favourite villain is she will always say Ursula so being cast as her evil sidekick Jestom is a dream come true.

Meet Flotsam - Eleanor Hewer 🐍

Eleanor describes herself as a vocal enthusiast, believing that singing is for everyone. She is a music specialist who has worked as a teacher and coach in schools and in her community for over 18 years. She is also the author of Rejigged by Singamajig, her songbook which encourages families and educators to sing with young children from the very start. Eleanor joined The Arcadians in 2015 for Sister Act and has proudly called the company her musical family ever since.

She loved playing the Fairy in the company’s first-ever pantomime, The Snow Queen, and is delighted to return as Musical Director while embracing her wicked side as Flotsam in The Little Mermaid. As always, she is loving being Musical Director for such a wonderful company and can’t wait to share another fabulous show with audiences—she hopes they will enjoy being part of our world!

Meet Chef Louis - Gillian Twaite 👨‍🍳

Gillian joined the Arcs in 2000 and has enjoyed many shows & concerts with them since. With a performing background in Theatre in Education & Children’s Theatre she enjoys ‘character roles’ with particular favourites at Arcs being Miss Adelaide (Guys & Dolls 2001), Mrs Lovett (Sweeny Todd 2016) & more recently being given free reign to create ‘mayhem as the janitor’ (Grease 2024).
She also loves a character song and thoroughly enjoyed being the preppy Glenda (Loathing) & Miss Hennighan (Little Girls) .

Little Mermaid has been a joy to rehearse , finding her inner singing & dancing fish, sailor & maid and she thanks the production team for trusting her with another ‘character ‘ the passionate - and dangerous - French Chef Louis - watch out front row!
