Community Routes 2026 has officially begun!

This week we welcomed our new cohort to ACM Birmingham for their Induction Days, where they got to meet their facilitators & mentors, the Punch team, Shambala, Catch22, ACM and each other - as they prepare for a week of creativity, collaboration and pushing themselves outside their comfort zones before working at Shambala Festival.

We received over 300 applications for just 50 Community Routes places, making it one of our most sought after talent programmes ever.

There was so much talent in this year’s applicant pool that we decided to make room for even more, increasing the number to 60 successful applicants.

Across five creative camps: DJ, Vocal Performance, Radio, Photography and Digital Arts - our artists will spend the next week developing their craft, building connections and learning alongside industry facilitators and mentors as part of a week-long residency at ACM Birmingham.

The residency will be swiftly followed by a slot at , a programme of masterclasses, and the opportunity to have their projects commissioned by Punch.

Community Routes 2026 begins tomorrow, and we can’t wait to welcome a new generation of West Midlands talent to the city.

Producer and DJ will be this year's DJ Facilitator for Community Routes!

CASE has played alongside Blumitsu, DJ HEARTSTRING, Young Marco & Special Request, and many more as well as having her alias VAULT with good friend Emerald.

Recently she has had sets at festivals such as Gottwood and Outlook and has been playing in clubs such as Fabric, The Cause, Corsica studios, Venue MOT, KOKO and more. She’s also has her own radio show every first Saturday 9-10pm on Rinse fm.

World-building artist, will be this year's Digital Arts Facilitator for Community Routes!

Seema Mattu is a Valmiki world-building artist, whose multimodal practice follows the logic of a speculative theme park - known as SEEMAWORLD.

Seema’s work has been shown widely, including projects with: Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, New Art City, Blindspot Gallery (Hong Kong), Film London (FLAMIN Fellowship 2021-2022), and Wysing Arts Centre (2023 Residency). In 2021, she was awarded an International Digital Fellowship at QUAD (Derby), leading to her first solo show in 2023. She has been an Incidental Artist at Eastside Projects (Birmingham) since 2024 and has launched a solo exhibition there in Spring 2026 - which will evolve across FACT (Liverpool) in Autumn 2026 and Focal Point Gallery (Southend-on-Sea) in Spring 2027.

On Saturday we officially opened ‘Shaving the Surface’ by the brilliant Korey Gabriella, proudly commissioned by Punch Records as part of our Community Routes programme.

Set entirely inside an operational barber shop, this immersive site-specific installation transformed a standard haircut into a deeply moving psychological encounter. Through two-way mirrors and hidden film, Korey’s work offers an extraordinary, intimate exploration of q***r identity, masculinity, and the invisible rituals of self-editing.

A huge congratulations to Korey for bringing this vision to life, and to everyone who joined us at The Finery for the day.
