Standing Shoulder to Shoulder this Armed Forces Week!
Today, as we mark Armed Forces Week, we are incredibly proud to highlight the enduring commitment of the Warwickshire Freemasons to our military community and Fisher House UK!
For our Province, supporting the forces isn’t just a one-week gesture—it’s an everyday promise. Here is how our members are making a massive impact:
£600,000 Raised! Through the Tercentenary Appeal leading up to 2028, an incredible £600,000 has been donated to Fisher House. This vital charity provides a free "home away from home" at QE Hospital Birmingham, keeping military families together while their loved ones receive life-saving care.
The 1,000-Mile Cycle Challenge! Three veterans—Roy Dixon, Garry Mitchell, and Ian Davies (with an average age of 66!)—have just smashed a cycle ride from Plymouth to Bilbao! Covering 75–80 miles a day, they overcame fatigue (and Roy's three punctures, saved by tubeless tyres) to raise over £2,000 for Myeloma UK and Fisher House!
A Deeply Personal Mission: For Ian, who was diagnosed with Myeloma in 2014, Fisher House was a lifeline that kept his family close during his bone marrow transplants.
"After everything that this cancer has put me through, this ride is about proving that life doesn’t stop with a cancer diagnosis. We are riding to support others facing myeloma and to help military families who are going through their own battles." – Ian Davies
Age and adversity are no barriers to making a difference! Let's show these amazing veterans some love in the comments.
