SPOTLIGHT STAGE SCHOOL has been voted Birmingham’s Best Dance School AND Birmingham’s Best Stage School. Pupils can take lessons in
• DANCE (Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street, Commercial, Contemporary)
• GYMNASTICS (including Acrobatics & Tumbling)
• DRAMA
• SINGING
We also run specialist PRE-SCHOOL & BOYS-ONLY CLASSES. There are both beginner classes and lessons for those with previous experience, for
boys and girls aged 2-18 years. Pupils can attend for fun, to make new friends, to increase self-confidence, or with a view to becoming a professional performer/teacher of theatre arts. The school currently provides tuition to well over 350 pupils. Our large membership means that we can split classes by both age AND ability to ensure every pupil receives the best possible tuition. Pupils work towards;
1) EXAMS which are recognised by the government (IDTA Dance, RAD Ballet, LAMDA Drama & LCM Singing)
2) SHOWS / PERFORMANCES including Disneyland Paris, West End theatres and large stadiums
3) COMPETITIONS – regional, national and international (including the Dance World Cup)
We also run an IN-SCHOOL AGENCY to help pupils gain professional/paid stage, TV, film and modelling work. Pupils have;
* Appeared on the Britain’s Got Talent Semi-finals in 2018 (AcroCadabra) and 2020 (Billy & Chantelle)
* Won 19 World titles, 24 British titles, plus dozens of Championships
* Performed at Disneyland Paris (4 times), West End Theatres, Wembley Stadium, Silverstone Racetrack, 02, NEC & NIA
* Being crowned Arlene Phillips Best Dance Group
* Maintained a 100% A*-C pass rate in external examinations, with nearly all pupils achieving the top Distinction mark.
* Gained dozens of professional 6-12 month contracts in the West End & UK tours (Matilda x3, Lion King x3, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, South Pacific, Oliver, Annie, Angelina Ballerina, Nativity
* Received scholarships totalling over £350,000
* Appeared in hundreds of feature films, TV dramas, TV adverts, radio commercials and modelling work,
