This album was composed by polish artist Marcin Lemański for a theatre production “Julie M” performed in September 2011 in the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham.
Album was produced by Jerry Rzeszowski with support from the European’s Welfare Association and PAIL West Midlands and was released for the 10th anniversary of the original play.
“Julie M” is a modern translation of the Swedish playwright Strindberg’s European classic play “Miss Julie”, directed by Daniel Piaszczyk and performed by Jade-Maria Cole, Jim Kelly, and Katarzyna Kolowska, along with a British-Polish performance team.
Marcin Lemanski composed all the music pieces based on a script analysis between June and September 2011 at Edgbaston Studio in Redditch- Worcestershire.
The music pieces were further worked during rehearsals at West Midlands- P.C.C. in Wolverhampton in August 2011 and were finalised at Crescent Theatre in Birmingham on September 2011.
All the tracks from this album were recorded live from the theatre stage during the premiere of the play on 13th September 2011 at Crescent Theatre in Birmingham.
The music pieces were further worked during rehearsals at West Midlands- P.C.C. in Wolverhampton in August 2011 and were finalised at Crescent Theatre in Birmingham in September 2011.
