We were honoured to exhibit his work 'Peter Getting out of Nick's Pool' as part of our Coming Out exhibition. His creativity and contribution to contemporary art will continue to inspire generations to come.

There's not long left to apply for the Whitworth Wallis Fellowship!

Aimed at students who have studied at Birmingham City University’s College of Art and Design within the last 10 years, the Fellowship provides an opportunity for an early to mid-career artist to develop their practice with special access to Birmingham Museums Trust’s collections.

The artist will undertake research and development to further advance their artistic skills and knowledge. There is a £2,000 bursary.

Our ever popular Medieval Day at Weoley Castle is back!

Join us on Saturday 18 July to experience what life was like in medieval Birmingham.

There will be re-enactors, battle displays, guided tours, craft activities and much more!

The local Portable Antiquities Scheme team will also be joining us. They record archaeological objects found by members of the public in England and Wales and will be bringing along some fascinating finds for visitors to explore as well as activities to take part in.

On selected Fridays, explore Weoley Castle with our experienced guides and see real finds from the site on display in the Visitors Centre.

The ruins of Weoley Castle are over 750 years old, and the site is one of the oldest buildings still visible in Birmingham.

On Thursday 25 June, we're hosting a series of inspiring events exploring the connection between art, nature and wellbeing as part of Healing Arts Birmingham, a week-long, city-wide event showing how arts, culture and heritage can improve health, wellbeing and social equity.

- The Healing Power of Nature in Victorian Society – Join Dr Hardeep Dhindsa and Dr Bharti Parmar for a fascinating talk on how nature shaped ideas of healing in Victorian society.

- Soundbath Taster Sessions with Manoj Collective – Experience deep relaxation through an immersive 30-minute soundbath session using crystal bowls, gongs and chimes.

- Art Meets Infusion: Reclaiming ‘Truth to Nature’ – Step into the Pre-Raphaelite Galleries for a unique drop-in workshop blending herbalism, art and mindfulness.

- Yoga and Dishoom Breakfast – Start your day with a gentle yet energising yoga practice led by Manoj. After the session, participants will receive a voucher to enjoy breakfast at Dishoom.
