Congratulations to Mélodie Michel who has reached the semi finals of the Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD competition. Mélodie played a great recital in our Thursday LIVE Plus! series two weeks ago.

Just as we say goodbye to August, we’ve remembered to link to August’s release over on . Paul Carr plays Paul Spicer’s Suite for Organ, which featured in the St Chad’s Cathedral Thursday LIVE recital series in May this year alongside works by David Briggs, Zsolt Gárdonyi and Naji Hakim.

Paul Spicer’s Suite for Organ is a substantial three movement work which deserves a wider audience.

A great recital today from Stephen Disley bringing the summer series ‘Thursday Live Plus!’ to a conclusion.
The year-round monthly recitals continue next Thursday, 3 September 2026, at 1:15pm with Paul Carr playing works by Mozart, Haydn, Jongen, Bélier, Boëly and Widor.

Last Thursday (20 August 2026) we were treated to an outstanding recital by Mélodie Michel from Paris on her début tour of the UK playing works by Duruflé, Howells, Copland/Michel and Prokofiev/Guillou.

We’re really looking forward to Mélodie Michel’s recital this Thursday - 20 August 2026 1.15pm - in St Chad’s Cathedral. Mélodie has already played recitals in Westminster Abbey, and Coventry Cathedral this week on her début tour to the UK.
