We're very excited to have been invited to The Heath Bookshop's Literature and Music Festival next week! Our senior programmer Rupert Cole will be discussing the brilliant new book "Lynchian: the Spell of David Lynch" with its author .higgs at Hare & Hounds πŸŽžοΈπŸ“•πŸ”₯

Through a personal, first-person lens, Lynchian unpacks the mystery but refuses to solve the enigma of an artist whose work reshaped cinema from the inside out - where story gives way to dreams, and meaning lies not in answers, but in experience.

Join us for a deep dive into John’s fantastic writing and the wonderful, mysterious world of David Lynch’s films

In 1972 at the Los Angeles Coliseum, director Mel Stuart captures the performances of the Watts Summer Festival. Organized by Stax Records, the festival is a gathering of musicians and entertainers from the black community, brought together to remember the Watts Riots from seven years prior. Key performances include those of comedian Richard Pryor, and singers Isaac Hayes and Luther Ingram. Stuart also presents shots of the Watts streets and community along with the festival footage.
