The piece itself is centred on the discovery of the TRAPPIST-1 system which is having its 10 year anniversary in 2026. In the film we follow the thoughts of an astrophysicist who explores the border between fact and imagination. It is a surround sound immersive experience, with a tailor-made celestial music putting the audience inside the mind of a scientist and the TRAPPIST-1 solar system.

Our excellent recording of the music, with our fabulous musicians and singers, alongside the collaboration of mixing studio, has enabled us to create something truly magical. The nostalgic 4k visual world designed with , and created through a blending of contemporary software and analogue equipment, is a thoroughly unique, beautiful, and artistic exploration of the topic.

This is the first public screening of The Flowering Desert, the very first operatic film tailored for planetariums created in the UK.

We want to thank and for making this project and this event possible!

Massive thanks to the expertise and knowledge of the core creatives that created this film and ☄️

🎶🎄Digbeth-inspired Carols for all brummies!

As part of our journey creating a new opera about Digbeth for ‘s Art at Typhoo community engagement commission, we’ve created Digbeth’s very own Christmas carols! 🎵🎅

We merrily sang them last at and wearing the masks we created a few weeks ago at the with . This includes new classics such as The Digbeth Reveller’s Carol or the Carol of the Eccentric Philanthropist!

Do you want to grab some scores and sing them merrily around Birmingham or around the world? We’ll have some for grabs this Thursday at .digbeth as part of and Crisp-MASS.

We’re also happy to share them with you if you ask nicely and promise to sing them (and tag us) not necessarily in tune but at least loudly and with a steady beat! 🥁
