We have an exciting performance coming up as part of week 2026!

Healing Arts Birmingham week demonstrates how art, culture, and heritage can transform health, wellbeing, and social equity. The week brings together artists, community organisations, practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to tackle health inequalities and embed creative practice at the heart of public life.

'Our Health, Our Stories' is an evening of reflection and awareness as we revive a small number of monologue pieces from the wealth of work in our back catalogue and show how the purpose of HABrum, demonstrating how art builds a healthier, fairer and more resilient community, has been at our heart all along.

📢 Applications to join The Brummie Ensemble are now open!

Following the success of our first year of The Brummie Ensemble we are excited to announce that applications are now open to join the group in our first term of our second year!

🎭The Brummie Ensemble is a dynamic, inclusive drama group for anyone interested in theatre performance and finding community through creative collaboration (aged 18+). Whether a seasoned performer or curious to try theatre for the first time, this is the space to explore and grow.

💫 It brings people together from different walks of life - broad age range, backgrounds, identities, and experiences to co-create exciting, original theatre.

📅 Meeting Saturday Mornings throughout June, July and August at Birmingham Settlement by Edgbaston Reservoir.

We’re recruiting!! 💛

Women & Theatre are looking for four volunteers to join our exciting inclusive drama group The Brummie Ensemble and support us for the first term of our second year! 🎭

Meeting on Saturday mornings throughout June, July & August, The Brummie Ensemble is a 10-week dynamic, inclusive adult theatre group for anyone interested in theatre, performance and finding community through creative collaboration

Volunteers will:
✨ Work alongside our Artistic Director and a team of experienced facilitators, you'll gain valuable experience and meet some excellent brummies!
be expected to participate in Saturday morning project sessions.

🚌 And we will reimburse volunteer travel costs (e.g. transportation and mileage) during the duration of the project.

So if you are someone who wants to:
🎨 support creative spaces
🙌meet new people
🙏 and work with a supportive team

Women & Theatre are looking for a Support Artist and Volunteers to join our Word Lounge Theatre programme 💛
This is a 10-week Saturday morning project with young people (13–17) who are care experienced, young carers and/or have additional needs — working together to create a brand new piece of theatre, performed at the MAC this July 🎭
Whether you’re:
✨ An artist looking to develop your practice in community theatre
✨ Or someone who wants to support young people in a creative space
—we’d love to hear from you.
📜 As part of our commitment to the More Than a Moment Pledge we are keen to support artists from the Black Creative Workforce and would particularly like to hear from these applicants.
💷 Support Artist: £100 per session
🙌 Volunteers: unpaid, valuable experience + supportive team
You’ll be working alongside experienced facilitators, our Associate Director Vicky Pritchard, and a brilliant group of young people.
