SHOUT is the festival of q***r arts and culture for Birmingham and the West Midlands. It aims to amplify the voices of le***an, gay, bisexual, trans and q***r people and communities from across our city and region, and start new conversations and tell new stories about LGBT+ life. SHOUT Festival was created by Birmingham LGBT, a grassroots organisation that lies at the heart of a kaleidoscope of dozens of community groups and networks, and delivers a vast range of support services for LGBT+ people – which puts SHOUT Festival directly in touch with the lived experience of q***r communities across the city.

Reimagining the Future of Birmingham's Gay Village
"The library is open..."
Birmingham's Gay Village has long been at the heart of LGBTQ+ life in the city and is some way connected to each and every one of us as we navigate through q***r life in Birmingham. But as the city changes, so do our communities and the spaces we gather in. In light of this, we want people to join us for an open, welcoming discussion to explore what the future of Birmingham's q***r spaces could look like and unpack our feelings around its current climate. Whether you want to celebrate, protect, transform or rethink the Village, your voice matters and is welcome!

Belonging isn’t always inherited, sometimes it’s assembled from group chats, borrowed sofas, mutual aid, and stubborn love.
We didn’t wait for the village. We became it.

Welcome to Danni, Shout's new producer who we are pumped to have part of the team! 💚 We've already started work on our next series of events so keep an eye out 👀

Danni Ebanks-Ingram is a Birmingham-based producer, facilitator and multidisciplinary practitioner working across community organising, arts + culture and participatory practice. Holding creativity and strategy, through curiosity and the principle of "yes, and…", their work explores distributive knowledge-sharing, democratic organising and systems change. Rooted in anti-racist, decolonial and place-based practice, Danni draws on their q***r experience, to collective memory, archival practices, traditions of mutual aid and storytelling to create spaces where people can imagine, connect and build more just futures.

HUMAN FOCUS exhibition will be coming to Birmingham LGBT centre on the 15th August to 30th September. 🎟️Entry is free

HUMAN FOCUS is a striking photographic exhibition by documentary photographer I Am Royal Art, revealing the human faces behind protest through moments captured at Pride, anti-war, and pro-Palestinian demonstrations across the UK. It speaks to a shared truth: we all seek freedom, safety, and respect and when individuals come together, they form movements; when movements unite, they create change.

Through intimate black-and-white photographs, the work draws attention to those often overlooked people whose voices are seen but not always truly heard, and whose rights are questioned or ignored. It leaves us with a simple but urgent question: who gets to be seen as human, and who is still fighting for that recognition?

Kiki Sessions SEASON 2 with Eric Scutaro this September🫦 Organising more sessions was a must, you loved them! Come join us to learn and practice Voguing completely free. Eric has created a space where you can freely explore, practice, learn, share, and develop your Voguing skills together.

This is a space designed for people with or without experience, to build the foundation for the future of a Kiki scene in Birmingham.
