Birmingham Opera Company International award winning opera company featuring international artists alongside local volunteers

Opera can be the most powerful and communicative of art forms. Birmingham Opera Company is committed to sharing this belief with the broadest possible range of people. By involving ourselves in local communities and making local people the focus of what we do, not only do we offer the opportunity to engage with opera at first hand but also in return have our productions enriched by a wealth of human experience. Our work, preparation and presentation are governed entirely by this commitment. "Ecstasy from Birmingham Opera Company..... incontestably the most artistically significant force in British opera this century." Richard Bratby, The Spectator, August 2021

“Imagine what Gareth Malone does with amateurs with The Choir on TV and multiply that by a hundred” – Brian Appleyard in the Sunday Times Culture Magazine
