We’re excited to be part of Midsummer Masti @ MAC, presented by Sampad, bringing our energy, creativity and cultural spirit to this wonderful celebration.

Introducing the CAASH Logo!
We are proud and excited to reveal the new logo for Culture Action Area of Small Heath (CAASH)!
CAASH brings together local people, community organisations, artists, cultural groups and partners to celebrate the creativity, diversity, heritage and cultural strength of Small Heath.
This logo represents our shared identity, collaboration and collective ambition to create more opportunities for people of all ages to take part in arts, culture and creative activities across our community.
CAASH is about working together, listening to local voices and building a vibrant cultural future that reflects the people and communities of Small Heath.
This is an exciting step in our journey, and we look forward to sharing more updates, activities and opportunities with you soon.

প্রতি বছর আমরা একটি আর্ট রেসিডেন্সির আয়োজন করি। আদর করে তাকে ডাকি ‘উরুস’।
Purbanat, Ayna Arts এবং গত বছর থেকে যুক্ত হওয়া আমরা সবাই এই উরুসে একত্রিত হই। সারা বছরের কাজের মূল্যায়ন করি, নিজেদের অর্জন উদযাপন করি, কোথায় আরও উন্নতির সুযোগ আছে তা খুঁজে দেখি, আর আগামী বছরের স্বপ্ন ও পরিকল্পনার আকি-বুকি করি।
এই পুরো প্রক্রিয়াটি আমরা নিমগ্ন হয়ে, একটি নিরাপদ, আন্তরিক ও সৃজনশীল পরিবেশে করার চেষ্টা করি।
এ বছর বাউল শিল্পী শফি মন্ডল, ডলি মন্ডল, হীরক রাজা এবং তাঁদের দলের আরও অনেক গুণী শিল্পী আমাদের সঙ্গে একটি দিন কাটিয়েছেন। তাদের উপস্থিতি, গান, আড্ডা ও ভাবনা আমাদের উরুসকে আরও সমৃদ্ধ করেছে। গভীর কৃতজ্ঞতা।
উরুসে প্রতি বছরই মানুষের ব্যক্তিগত ও সম্মিলিত শুভ ইচ্ছার এক অপূর্ব প্রকাশ অনুভব করি। আর এ বছর আমরা চেষ্টা করেছি নিজেদের ভেতরের বাউলামিকে অনুভব করার: মুক্তচিন্তা, সহজিয়া মনন, মানবপ্রেম আর নিজেকে খোঁজার চর্চাকে।
বাউলামি সমৃদ্ধ হোক।
উরুস বেঁচে থাকুক।
এই পারম্পরা চলতে থাকুক।

Every year, we gather for an arts residency that we lovingly call URUS.
URUS is more than an annual retreat. It is a shared space of reflection, renewal, and imagination. Artists from Purbanat, Ayna Arts, and, since last year, Parampara, come together to pause, look back at the journey of the past year, celebrate our strengths, acknowledge where we need to grow, and begin sketching the dreams that will shape the year ahead.
We try to hold this process in a space that is safe, generous, and deeply attentive—a place where we can listen to one another, question ourselves honestly, and rediscover the purpose of creating together.
This year, we had the privilege of spending a day with Baul artists Shafi Mondol, Doly Mondol, Hirak Raza, and many other remarkable members of their ensemble. Through their songs, stories, conversations, and quiet presence, they brought a rare depth to our gathering.
Every URUS reminds us of the extraordinary power of individual and collective goodwill. This year, we also set out to explore the Baul spirit within ourselves: not merely as a musical tradition, but as a way of being, a celebration of freedom of thought, simplicity of heart, love for humanity, and the lifelong search for one's true self.
May URUS continue to thrive.

Organising an event once is an achievement. Organising it every year, with the same passion and commitment, is something much deeper. It becomes a Parampara (tradition), a living heritage passed from one generation to the next.
URUS is our Parampara. It is our heritage.
As we slowly recover from the beautiful whirlwind that was URUS 2026, our hearts are full of gratitude. Every participant, artist, volunteer, family member and supporter has contributed to keeping this tradition alive.
URUS is more than an event. It is a space where art, culture, community and friendship come together; where stories are shared, memories are created, and new generations connect with their roots while embracing the future.
Thank you to everyone who walked this journey with us. We're still recovering from the magic of URUS 2026, but already looking forward to the next chapter of this growing tradition.
URUS is not just an event. It's our Parampara.
