BIRMINGHAM'S MOST VIBRANT CULTURAL EXCHANGE - AS ECLECTIC AND WELCOMING AS THE CITY ITSELF. Intercâmbio Cultural e Residência Artística no Reino Unido.

Brum Spirit brings together musicians and artists from Brazil, Birmingham and the wider world, in a celebration which takes place each Summer. This exchange provides creative collaborations in Birmingham, between visiting and local artists taking shape in the form of public concerts, workshops, recordings, interventions and film screenings. Brum Spirit is not just a celebration of global culture,

it is a meeting point, where the cream of Birmingham’s creative talent can explore and create alongside artists from a far removed cultural context. There is something for everyone, from the free workshops and family friendly fun days, to the evening performances taking place in much loved venues and unusual spaces.

*BRUM SPIRIT reúne músicos e artistas do Brasil e resto do mundo, em uma celebração que se realiza a cada verão no Reino Unido. Este intercâmbio proporciona colaborações criativas em Birmingham (a segunda maior cidade da Inglaterra), onde os visitantes e artistas locais se juntam para realizar concertos públicos, workshops, gravações, intervenções de arte e exibições de filmes. BRUM SPIRIT não é apenas uma celebração da cultura global, é um ponto de encontro, onde a nata do talento criativo de Birmingham pode explorar e criar ao lado de artistas de um contexto cultural muito distante. Há algo para todos, desde as oficinas gratuitas a familiar dias de diversão, com as performances da noite que ocorrem em locais conhecidos da cidade, e outras em espaços incomuns.

The Balsall Heath Forum is seeking to appoint a Community Development Manager for 2-3 days per week to manage its Birmingham City Council funded Local Innovation Fund project.
The role of the Manager is to develop a partnership between the Sparkbrook and Balsall Heath Forums in order to create a social action hub that uses deliberative democracy to activate and mobilise local people, co-produce community-led solutions to long standing complex problems, and develop sustainable community infrastructure.

An understanding of the voluntary sector is essential along with experience of supporting volunteer boards, managing community projects and a proven ability to devise and implement project plans.

The post is fixed term for one year and the salary is £25k pro rata. The closing date for applications is 14th April and interviews will be held on 1st May.
