🎶 The beginning of UK Bhangra.

In 1967, Bhujhangy Group recorded “Teri Chithi Noon Parhan” - their first recording, with just 100 copies of the 7” EP made.

The brothers personally placed the records in pub jukeboxes around the Midlands. From those early beginnings, the sound of UK Bhangra started to take shape. 🙌🏽

The Bhujhangy Group was formed in 1967 in Smethwick by brothers Balbir and Dalbir Singh Khanpur. 🎶

The name “Bhujhangy” means “child,” reflecting their beginnings as two young brothers learning tabla, harmonium and singing at their local Gurdwara.

What started there went on to become a huge part of UK Bhangra history.
