Thanks to everyone who came and supported the show. A lot of money has been raised for Samaritans! We're still working out exactly how much but we will be sure to give an update as soon as we are able to do so.

Until then, please check out this wonderful ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review from William Stafford at 'Bum on a Seat': https://bumonaseat.wordpress.com/tag/harrys-christmas/

Last night's opening performance of Harry's Christmas was a huge success!

There are a tiny number of tickets left for this afternoon's 2:15pm performance, but this evening's 7:15pm show is the best bet for those still without a ticket.

Please join us to witness a wonderful performance and to help us raise as much money as possible for Samaritans.

'Twas the day before opening, when all through the set
Not a creature was stirring, no movement as yet;
The props were all set in their places with care,
Poppy's in charge so of course they're all there!

Harry's Christmas opens TOMORROW!

We are very excited to share the show with an audience and the last few tickets can be picked up here (with best availability on Saturday evening): https://www.crescent-theatre.co.uk/event-details/315931ADCPPRMLDPDRSGNJNMRVKGPPQNQ/harrys-christmas/

We'd also like to take this opportunity to introduce to everyone Poppy, who has spent countless hours working on the incredibly detailed props that bring Harry's living room to life.

“Never happier than with a craft knife and a printer, Poppy has loved getting to create so many 1980s props for ‘Harry’s Christmas’, from wine bottle labels to vintage stamps!

A lifelong lover of meticulous research and arts & crafts, Poppy regularly makes props for The Crescent Theatre; highlights include ‘The Girl on the Train’, ‘My Night With Reg’, ‘House and Garden’, and ‘The Night Watch’. Poppy is also a burgeoning set designer, and designed her first set last year for the Crescent’s production of ‘Love From a Stranger.’

The themes explored in ‘Harry’s Christmas’ are incredibly close to Poppy’s heart and she feels very lucky to have played a part in bringing this production to life.”

Please join us tomorrow and Saturday to see the whole team's efforts come together and help us raise some money for a great cause - All the profits from our performances will be donated to Samaritans.

Two days to go!

Harry's Christmas opens on Friday at 7:15pm in the Crescent Theatre Underground.

Just before that, let us introduce you to our director(s):

"Steph has always wanted to be involved in another festive play since her debut as a Christmas Tree Fairy with Scottish Youth Theatre when she was a wee lass and has been privileged to support on this production and its incredibly important topic.

She has previously directed for the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham; Attenborough Arts Centre and the Y Theatre in Leicester; Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton and Baron's Court, Bridewell Theatre, South London Theatre, Stanley Arts, The Lion & Unicorn and The White Bear in London."

Darcie is making her directorial debut, but has previously performed in The Lion King, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Just three days to go until Harry's Christmas opens at the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham!

The next member of the team to introduce is Lou Styles, who has done a little bit of everything for us!

"When he's not being an actor, Lou has been a lighting designer, sound technician, poster artist, and photographer. This is his first time doing all of those things on one show. He was thrilled to join the Harry's Christmas production team, as he really felt like a bit of festive cheer."

It's show week! Harry's Christmas opens this Friday at the Crescent Theatre.

It is time, therefore, to meet the team behind the production, and where better to start than with Tom Lowde, who is playing Harry.

"Tom’s love of monologues started from a very early age. In his younger years he would perform at festivals around the Cotswolds and he once won Best Solo Actor at the Royal Wotton Bassett Performing Arts Festival. He was very excited as he got to meet the Mayor!

In more recent years, Tom has continue to develop a passion for this medium at the Crescent Theatre, playing Percy in 'Qu**rs' and earlier this year he made his directorial debut with 'Snatches.' Other recent credits include Thomas in 'Nora: A Doll's House' and Jack in 'The Importance of Being Earnest.'

The topic of mental health and loneliness is of particular importance to Tom. He is honoured to have the chance to bring Harry to life."

It's November 25th. That means there's just one month until Christmas, and, even better, only ten days until Harry's Christmas opens at the Crescent Theatre!

Our props queen, Poppy, has been busy putting the finishing touches on an 80s classic: this gorgeous bottle of Le Piat d'Or. Come and join us next week to see a few more ghosts of Christmases past on the Underground stage!

Tickets are selling fast but those remaining are available here: https://www.crescent-theatre.co.uk/event-details/315931ADCPPRMLDPDRSGNJNMRVKGPPQNQ/harrys-christmas/

Just two weeks to go! Our Harry has been all up night making sure those lines are all firmly lodged in place.

Harry's Christmas runs from Friday 5th December to Saturday 6th December. With just three chances to watch the show, all in a very intimate space, make sure you book now to avoid missing out!

Tickets are available through The Crescent Theatre box office: https://www.crescent-theatre.co.uk/event-details/315931ADCPPRMLDPDRSGNJNMRVKGPPQNQ/harrys-christmas/

"Christmas is just a few days away. Harry has the tree, the jumper, and the wine, but, yet again, he has only received a slender number of cards.

As the big day draws nearer, Harry becomes increasingly aware of his lack of fellowship in this expertly observed study of what it means to be isolated at a time when images of family and togetherness are impossible to avoid.

First performed 40 years ago, Steven Berkoff’s darkly comic exploration of male loneliness over the festive period remains searingly pertinent.

All profits from this show will be donated to Samaritans."
