Raising Her Voice- in aid of Endometriosis U.K

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women from puberty to menopause, although the impact may be felt for life. In the UK, that’s over 1.5 million from all races and ethnicities living with the condition.

Endometriosis occurs when cells similar to the ones in the lining of the womb (uterus) are found elsewhere in the body. These cells can grow and change in response to hormones in the menstrual cycle, this can cause inflammation, pain and scar tissue.
Endometriosis is most commonly found on the lining of the pelvis (peritoneum) and may occur in the ovaries and involve other pelvic organs, like the bowel or bladder. Less commonly, endometriosis can also be found outside the pelvis, such as in the chest.

Endometriosis needs to be a Government priority. With gynaecology waiting times at crisis point, diagnosis times taking on average 8 years and 10 months in the UK, and many with the disease facing challenges at work and in education, now is the time for change.

Endometriosis UK is dedicated to working with Governments and healthcare systems across the UK to demand change on various issues including diagnosis, access to management and treatment, education and employment.

Raising Her Voice

A celebration of International Women's Day through choral music written by women, in aid of Endometriosis UK.
Raising Her Voice is a celebration of International Women’s Day through choral music written exclusively by women. The programme highlights the richness, diversity, and emotional depth of women’s compositional voices across styles and eras. From moments of reflection, to songs of joy, this concert honours women's creativity and the power that their voices have to inspire.
This concert is in aid of Endometriosis UK. A portion of each ticket price will be donated to Endometriosis UK, plus you will have the chance to donate on the door.

🥳 Congratulations to The Elgar Scholars, Laura Bailie and Jim Bate, whose debut album Finding Your Home has just received its very first review!

“The Elgar Scholars demonstrate their assured command, and conductors Bailie and Bate have clearly worked hard with them to create a highly accomplished choir...they produce a sophisticated sound, with precise tuning and clear diction a given.”

The album's selection of works explores the many meanings of ‘home’, with music from Edward Elgar to Jonathan Dove, Bob Chilcott and Laura Mvula.
