We’re going into this week feeling the joy from yesterday. 😍

It was our annual awards party to recognise and celebrate all the children and young people that come to Fantastic Journeys. 🥳

Our sessions create safe and supportive environments for people with additional needs and their families to be creative, and we love seeing people gain confidence and freedom in that space.

Every child and young person received a certificate for the part they have played in our shared journeys. People have engaged and contributed in so many different ways.

And to add extra sparkle – we were celebrating 5 years of Fantastic Journeys! 5 years of our very special community. ✨

Huge heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, in yesterday and over the last 5 years, you are all part of our Fantastic Journey. ❤️

📍Save the date! Sunday 17th may

For our 5th birthday party. Where we will…

⭐️be entertained by the wonderful Brandhall Community Choir
⭐️celebrate our fantastic community
⭐️recognise the achievements of all of our children.

The event will be held at Thimblemill Library, Smethwick B67 5RJ

It will start at 12.30pm. 12.30 – 1.45pm will be for families that need a quieter space.
1.45pm – 3.45pm will be open to everyone who would like to join us for an afternoon of music, cake and celebration.

Bearwood Baptist Church. Sessions starting at 4:30pm and 5:30pm
Contact us for more info and to book onto a session.

You'll meet the stars of the video, Rose and Joe, who run the sessions.
The video shows them playing around with a song that we use every session. 'Everybody Play' gives each child a chance to conduct the room, asking people to stop and start playing through a combination of words, movements, signs and instrument playing.

OurTime is our weekly Monday evening club for children with Additional Needs and their siblings.

We explore imaginary worlds through music, dance, storytelling and role playing.
The sessions are an hour long and start at 4:30pm and 5:30pm (we have a few spaces in both sessions).

To give you more of an idea of what happens, though each session is different, there's always:
👋A hello song to welcome everyone. Everyone gets their own verse and we've got some very bespoke ones developing. Led by the children, our hello song goes from blues to rap, fast to slow, loud to silent with actions only.
🙌A warm up - guided movements to live instruments to get us ready for the session.
🎈A parachute - a loved part of the session and our transition into our story.
🧳And a story - we have a theme for each term and will share our new theme next week...as our summer term starts on Monday 27th April.

Our friends Women and Theatre have spaces on this fantastic creative arts project. Closing date for the project is this Friday. Please share if you are able to. 🙂

We’re looking for young people aged 13–17 who are:

To join us for a 10-week creative journey:

Together, you’ll:

🎭 Create your own original theatre show
🎶 Explore acting, music, improv & movement
💡 Share your ideas, stories & imagination
🌟 Perform live at the MAC (Foyle Studio) on 4th July

No experience needed — just bring yourself 🙌

Multi-sensory Music and Movement Sessions 8th of April 2026

Fantastic Journeys will be running music and movement sessions during the. Easter holidays. These sessions are funded by Sandwell Go-Play through the national Holidays and Food programme and are for children with Additional Needs and siblings who attend Sandwell Schools or live in Sandwell. There will be two different sessions. One session is a lively session suitable for most children with Additional Needs. The other is a quieter session for children with PMLD and/or Complex Support Needs. These sessions are for school aged children. To book onto these sessions you will need to use Evouchers that will have been issued through your child’s school. If you have any questions contact Peter at [email protected]
