Intimate tropical scene of a mother watching her 3 sons running into the sea. Inspired by frequent trips to the Cayman Islands to visit my son.
This beach is Spotts Beach, Grand Cayman.

My Favourite Toy

This is Marley, one of my loopy border collies. I managed to take the reference photo for this drawing in one of his quiet moments, while he was hugging his favourite toy and stopping his brother Bob from stealing it! It was a challenge drawing him on pastelmat as I'm not too experienced with it, but quite happy with how he came out! He's drawn in a mix of Faber-Castell Polychromos, Caran d'ache luminance, and some Derwent drawing pencils.

Allotment Quince

This is a watercolour work of Quince that were growing on my allotment. They were past their prime but had developed some beautiful autumn colours. I worked on a Langdon board, which allowed me to build up the layers and add depth to the colour. I played around with the dark background to try and make the colours of the fruit zing.

Winter on the Allotment

This is an oil on board painting of my allotment site. It was the end of a February day, and the light was fading quickly; the place was silent apart from the sound of the ice crunching underfoot. It was too cold to paint, so I just completed a quick sketch and took some reference photos. I can still feel the cold when I look at this painting.

Where time stood still

I love painting seascape sunsets its my favourite subject that triggers lovely memories.
I have added both my children as they were when they were younger to portray a peaceful, tranquil scene.
Its 20 x 16 canvas painted in acrylic.
