Guitar sketch

I thought of doing an observational sketch of my sister's guitar. She is teaching herself to play the guitar, as she wants to play some of her favourite Beatles tracks as a hobby. The drawing was done from a view in the corner of our living room where the instrument sits.

Jane

This is a portrait of a friend on her way to Ascot Races. Painted in oils, it is 11" x14" on canvas board and took around 20 hours to complete. Getting the dress fabric to show the gold and lilac embroidery without overpowering and drawing attention was a challenge, as I wanted her face to be the focus of the work. Similarly, the mesh decoration in the hat needed to show without becoming too detailed. I learned a lot from this work!

Beneath the surface tension

I'm an airbrush artist based in the West Midlands. In this piece, I wanted to push the boundaries of photorealism with the airbrush and recreate minute detail in texture.

Title. Beneath The Surface Tension
Size A3,
Medium. Airbrush on composite board

I really hope you enjoy it.

Salamanca cathedral

I drove to Spain to paint this. Took 2 days to drive from the Midlands, catching a ferry from Dover to Calais. It was done across 3 days, 5 hours per sitting due to the heat. It is oil on stretched canvas and sold straight off the easel.
