After their second critically acclaimed LP “Sang-Dragon” Fredrik Bolzann & Niko Lass have been joined in their act by Ügo Greifengeier & Djé Cndrs for a split with cult fellows Dead Witches published by HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS Records and followed by the third LP “Trove of Oddities at the Devil’s Driveway”.
Now a 4-piece maniac band wholly dedicated to the dark arts and the everlasting quest for The Tone, they defended their craft on notorious stages like Hostsabbat and Sonic Blast for 3 years. Back in Brittany, they recorded another album with Christophe Chavanon at the legendary Kerwax Studio, fully on analog tape once again.

Pekka Laine & The Enchanted return in Astral Mood - Third album of cinematic spheres and mind-expanding boogie out in November on Svart Records.

When the critically acclaimed album The Enchanted Guitar of Pekka Laine was released in 2021, its creator had no idea he was embarking on a musical journey that would evolve into a trilogy. “The first solo album was a spontaneous experiment by curious sound alchemists under the encouraging eye of maestro Esa Pulliainen. We didn't think about the consequences,” sums up Pekka Laine, who has been active as an instrumental music advocate since the 1990s.

The most important consequence of that opening move was the birth of The Enchanted, a band that developed into a respected live outfit. This "enchanted" ensemble gave the richer, grander Pekka Laine & The Enchanted in Slumberland album its vibrant identity in 2024. Now, the band's telepathically soaring interplay forms the foundation for the final chapter of this three-part trip.

Reaching from cinematic spheres to mind-expanding boogie grooving like a buzzing lava stream, the music sounds more muscular and daring than ever. Pekka Laine’s compositions bend in many directions and unexpected postures in the hands of the six-piece mini-orchestra. The Enchanted collective also co-wrote three of the album’s tracks. “We picked a direction and just let go, without clear structures or instructions. We found the right mood and took a freefall. Afterwards, we realized we had some killer new tracks! Without our shared journey and letting off steam, this wouldn't have been possible,” Laine explains, describing the chemistry of a band that has unlocked new dimensions within itself.

The goal of the new Enchanted album is clear: to whisk the listener away to somewhere far, far off. Close your eyes, and you'll find yourself on an astral trip amidst dreamscapes and strange visions. A dangerously beautiful melody conjuring Cold War atmospheres leads onto the path of an atomic-powered space horse galloping in true krautrock fashion. A nocturnal ballad, handed directions by Frank Sinatra’s ghost, intertwines with high-octane hippie-era guitar shredding. An Appalachian riff sounding like an ancient incantation blends with Scandinavian psychedelic groove, bending into a hazy ritual jam channeling vintage horror.

“Even though these tracks carry an escapist and perhaps even romantic vibe, they are still deeply personal creations. Music diving into a psychedelic landscape or the mist of a lost world represents what I believe in, what I feel is my ultimate calling,” Laine says, capturing the essence of The Enchanted sound, before adding: “There's enough run-of-the-mill stuff being made already. We're more than happy to handle the Neverland department.” One of the key tracks on the new album, Willow Tree, showcases the band’s search for a magical sound at its finest. Nightbird, one of the most stunning voices in the Finnish new-folk scene, delivers the perfect finishing touch with her vocals and hypnotic guitar work. Exuding the mystical spirit of psych-folk, the song is a timeless gem that, for some reason, the classics of the genre never got around to making back in the day.

To Pekka Laine, the album format remains the ultimate way to experience music. At its best, a long-player creates an entire parallel reality where you can get lost and where everything ties together. Pauliina Mäkelä’s enchanting cover art and the visual design created by trusted graphic artist Jussi Karjalainen tell the very same story as Väinö Karjalainen’s mix and production, which overflows with intriguing details. When all energies push in the same direction, things start happening—and that is ultimately what Pekka Laine & The Enchanted in Astral Mood is all about.

“You have to reach for the stars and the moon. You have to aim for the same mind-blowing thrill as the coolest psych-pop classics, soundtrack oddities, and the trippiest 1960s and '70s dance records. This is our sincere, full-tilt version of that same magic.”

Italian psychedelic rock outfit Tangerine Stoned have unveiled the official music video for their latest single, "I Shoot The Moon". Serving as the captivating opening track to their upcoming fourth studio album, "Faded Dreams" (out November 6 via Go Down Records), the song sets a mesmerizing tone for what is to come.

Speaking about the track, the band shares: "This track opens our new album, pulling you into the Tangerine Stoned universe from the very first note. It drifts through hazy, lunar calm - spacey textures, shimmering reverb, and slow-floating guitars - until everything feels suspended in orbit. The moon hangs overhead as a quiet obsession: distant, luminous, and always just out of reach."

Hailing from Kiel in Germany, stoner doom trio Earthb**g has been heading towards the riff-filled land since the year 2018, unleashing three studio albums, a live album and one EP upon the masses.

Earthb**g has toured Australia in spring 2025, including headlining performances at Sun Burn Festival and Stoned To Death Fest Sydney, and shared the stage with the godfathers of b**g metal such as Bongzilla, Bongripper and Belzeb**g, as well as landmark acts such as The Obsessed, Unida and Firebreather. With more than 90 shows over the past years, including festivals like ReykjaDoom Festival (Iceland), Stoned From The Underground (DE), Rock in Bourlon (FR) and Hoflärm Open Air (DE), Earthb**g earned a reputation as one of the heaviest live acts currently gracing the underground doom scene.

Now in 2026, the mighty trio is finally set to unleash a powerful new set of tunes with their anticipated new album Salutations to the Cultivators, to be issued in the fall on The Lasting Dose Records. "'Salutation to the Cultivators' is a line taken from Sleep's 'Giza Butler' track, as the album is meant as a homage, not only to the cultivators of w**d but also to the cultivators of the stoner doom genre. As we have started with long-form songs and a more unconventional approach to songwriting and structures, we feel that this is our most accessible album yet," says the band. Tracked live over a weekend at Kassel's Kulturzentrum Karnak, the album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Felix Margraf. It features guest contributions from Timo Fritz (Purple Dawn) and Feli (Frost, Pisse & Elend).

Herba Mate is an Italian trio formed in 2000 by Alessandro Trerè (bass, vocals), Andrea Barlotti (guitar), and Ermes Piancastelli (drums). Their music draws inspiration from the vast California deserts—the birthplace of Desert Rock and Stoner Rock, and home to influential bands such as Kyuss, Fatso Jetson, Queens of the Stone Age, Yawning Man, and Fu Manchu. From their base in Italy, the three friends reinterpret these lysergic sounds through psychedelic dynamics, deep low frequencies, and hypnotic riffs, adding a distinctly Romagna-flavored edge. The band’s name refers to yerba mate, the traditional South American infusion often consumed as part of a ritual.

Herba Mate’s comeback album is rooted in the band’s everyday life: family, friendship, work, the streets, and their beloved Romagna—a homeland stretching from clay canyons to the sea. The record title evokes a fascination with what races forward: technology, progress, speed, and efficiency. This tension defines our time, shaped by the pursuit of perfection. Yet acceleration also risks disconnecting us from the tangible simplicity of the world around us, made up of water, air, earth, and fire: the elements that bring us back to our essence. This contrast lies at the heart of the album’s concept and sound. The project unfolds across two consecutive releases: Bolide I & II, exploring Earth and Air, followed by Bolide III & IV, which will turn to Fire and Water.
Terra (I), Aer (II), Ignis (III), and Aqua (IV) form the coordinates of the al-
bums’ narrative and musical language. The tracks were recorded primarily live, with drums, guitar, and bass forming the raw, driving core of each song. The trio lineup remains at the heart of the record, gradually enriched by a cast of guest musicians: Claudio Colaianni (That’s All Folks, Colt.38, Anuseye) and Valentina Paggio on vocals; Gianni Perinelli on saxophone; Stefano Olivi on organ; Silvia Valtieri on piano; and Franco Naddei on synthesizers. The arrangements evolved organically, free from genre boundaries and open to
the distinct sensibilities and musical languages of each contributor. Alongside them are soundscapes born in an acoustic studio session, later developed and expanded during mixing into cinematic interludes.

Henrik Palm is one of Swedish underground music's most restless and genre-defying figures. A veteran of In Solitude and early band member of Ghost, he has spent the better part of two decades moving freely between heavy metal, post-punk, krautrock, and whatever else catches his ear. Alternating between the world of being a solo artist and an in-demand collaborator has always come naturally to him, over the years Henrik has worked with Gösta Berlings Saga, Pig Eyes, Södra Sverige, Horndal, and stepped in as a live musician for Vi**ra Boys and Hurula. Across the Swedish underground, when someone needs the right person for the job, Henrik Palm’s name tends to come up.

Idiot Plot, his fourth album, was born from burnout, Sunday studio sessions, and the stubborn return of joy. It is his most psychedelic and unhinged record yet, and somehow also his most direct.
Henrik’s own words on Idiot Plot:

"One could claim that boredom is the mother of invention. If boredom equals sobriety and a more healthy lifestyle then I happily join the choir. Late summer 2024 I hit the wall and didn't wanna do anything. Nothing. Nada. The thought of playing and making music repulsed me. Years of bad mental health and self-abuse took its toll. Something had to change and to just let it all go felt GREAT.
But... Flash forward a couple of weeks and I met up with Simon (Söderberg, producer) for a coffee. He suggested we meet up and just make a song for fun. I was hesitant but said "sure...". Every other Sunday we made a new song (still just for "fun") in his studio and slowly I felt some familiar version of joy come back. Not full-on euphoria but a good laugh and a half at least.

The songs kept coming and all of a sudden Simon said "ok we have an album". And that album is what you can listen to here. It's called Idiot Plot. The title is nicked from literary criticism and is sometimes used to describe stories, movies or other art forms where the plot is "kept in motion solely by virtue of the fact that everybody involved is an idiot".

It's also a fitting way to describe my own career. Or even — dare I say — the music industry in general. In contrast to the sober state in which the album was created it's far more psychedelic than my previous outings. It's also weirder but at the same time more straightforward. I hope you dig the album.

French heavy rock band SLIFT have released “Live From The Street,” a new performance video filmed in the midst of this summer’s heat wave on the streets of the band’s hometown of Toulouse, France. It features incredible performances of the songs “The Day of Ex*****on” and “Secret Mirror” from the band’s acclaimed new album,'Fantasia', which is available now worldwide from Sub Pop Records.
The video was directed by the band’s visual artist, Guthio.

SLIFT’s headline tour in support of 'Fantasia' resumes Tuesday, October 6th in Boston at The Sinclair, and runs through to Saturday, February 6th, 2027 in Madrid, ES at Wolf. The tour includes extensive dates in North America, the UK, and the EU between now and early 2027.

The second single from the Málaga-based Plastic Woods upcoming album delves into the darker side of 'Mirrors', exploring the collapse of our sense of identity and the need to confront our own shadows in order to truly know ourselves.

Plastic Woods released "The Fool and The Tower" , on September 24th, the second single from 'Mirrors', their third studio album, due out on October 22nd, 2026 via Spinda Records and Discos Macarras.

Inspired by different Tarot arcana, "The Fool and The Tower" represents the moment when everything that holds our identity together begins to collapse. The Tower falls, and the protagonist steps through the mirror to confront their own shadows –a song about the need to destroy the image we have of ourselves in order to truly discover who we are.

Musically, "The Fool and The Tower" continues to showcase Plastic Woods' evolution towards a more complex and defined progressive rock sound, while retaining the psychedelia, hard rock and eclectic character that run throughout 'Mirrors'.
