Reset Theatre

Reset Theatre Reset Theatre is a West Midlands-based company prioritising new works and fresh approaches to old ones.

Reset Theatre is a West Midlands-based theatre company founded in 2017 by Alex Wilcox, Katie Webster, Jacob Standbridge and Charlie Harris. The four of us act as the core of the company, with all of us taking on the role of performer and/or production team member in some capacity or another for each project. We also work with talented artists and creatives to enable us to bring our ideas to life

At Reset, we believe that theatre’s most important quality is its relevance. The name ‘Reset’ comes from one of our main goals - resetting classical texts. Classics are getting lost to a perception that they are inaccessible and outdated but these stories have the potential to resonate and connect with us today. We are a group of artists with experience in many more areas than adaptation. As such we also want to create new works that more acutely respond to relevant issues. We believe that theatre has a great social and political importance that can be used to communicate with an audience. Our works are sometimes inspired by history and classics but are always tailored to the world around us. Our works are accompanied by a commitment to consistent improvisation. After all, improv is perpetually relevant and immediate, as well as a little bit of fun. We like to trust our impulsive minds and see what that can teach us all, both performers and spectators. We hope that audiences take something from all of our works, old, new and improvised whether that be a challenged perception, an emotional engagement, or (simple) entertainment.
