Working with fab to make a little film about . The film will be ready soon but bear with me. Life is pretty hectic right now! That’s a shot of me trying to make a brew with a bear head on where I can hardly see what I’m doing. All stunts were performed by me. BTW I’m saving the gold jacket for my imminent mid-life crisis where I go clubbing in it and try to blend in with people in their 20s. No one will ever know

Here is an entry for the Milcote Road Art Exhibition by emerging photographer Grace, who is only 12 years old. Unfortunately she is on holiday so she couldn’t print these off but these wonderful images were still sent over to us. Amazing Grace, thank you

Thanks to the input from some Milcote Ministers we have decided to run a Milcote Road Art Exhibition on 29 Aug on Milcote Road (obviously). All ages, abilities, species (yes pets) welcome to take part. From absolute beginners to creative bloomers come show us your stuff anywhere you want (as long as it’s safe) - it could be a drawing, a sculpture or some really bad circus skills in your garden, window, on your fence, gate, door, pavement, garage or on your car. Be as creative as you want to be with what you do and where you do it. To find out more and to enter go to the web link in bio

So Facebook takes down my fake Bear Wood account because I can’t prove that Bear Wood is my real name and identity. I replied to Facebook to say bears don’t get have birth certificates like humans but they were having none of it. So there’s me, a fun lovin’ disco bear doing some good where I live yet this vile cow can spread hatred and racism for years but because she’s real and I’m not, she is allowed an account and. I’m not. I think social media would be a better place with more disco animals in gold and less Katie Hopkins. Oh well as a bear I will be pushed back to the underground.

A little party never hurt no one. So I decided to set up a political party for Milcote Road. I asked the residents to come up with Ministerial roles and they came up with some beauties. I plan to build on these with them in the future because when you take silliness seriously, something good is going to happen. The full list of roles are on the Milcote Assembled website. Here are some of the many roles I’ve been sent: Minister of Retro - creating a retro bring and share street party and retro drive-ins: Sunshine Minister - mandate British Summer Time all year round; Minister of Creativity - arrange a front window art exhibition, events and craft trading workshops; Minister of Big Imagination - helping the street and youth get creative and being the Artist in Residential; Minister of New Parenthood - host a parents’ picnic to get to know one another and sharing kids activities; Colour Minister - arrange a street Holi festival and make the street more colourful; Minister of Escapism and Travelling New Worlds - arrange a street food festival and set up a Milcote Book Club; Minister of Pretty Street - colour the door rainbow colours and have lots of flowers and plants in gardens; Minister of Fun - have a water fight, a Lego completion and try new activities with neighbours; Minister of Music and Dance - organise street dances, flash mobs and live music on sunny Saturday afternoons.

I asked Milcote Road residents what their favourite songs are. I turned some of the more positive lyrics from these songs into posters. I realised that the messaging and signage on the streets we live on and often so negative; getting fined for litter or dog poo. I wanted to bring a bit of colour and positivity to the road. The posters will be given to residents to put in their windows. ! ! @ Bearwood, West Midlands
