β›ˆοΈ14/06/2026 - THOMAS MARSH TRIO

πŸ”₯ For this month's session we are welcoming a familiar face to the JATR stage. Of the back of a run of dates in Wales our resident bassist THOMAS MARSH with be bringing his very own trio to The Ruin.

πŸ‘‰ Originally from St Davids, Pembrokeshire, Thomas Marsh is an up and coming jazz bassist and composer, now based in Birmingham. He takes great influence from folk, rock, and blues music in his playing, including musicians such as Danny Thompson and John Martyn, Julian Lage, Charles Mingus, and Herbie Hancock. On July 8th 2023, Tom released his debut album 'What's Wrong With Rain?'. As part of his final-year studies he composed/arranged, produced, and mixed all the recordings on the album. Following its release, Tom completed a highly-successful limited England/Wales tour with his Quintet and Trio. Alongside his own projects Tom is also an active side-man. He has now played with many of the greats of the UK and international jazz scenes, including Alan Barnes, Art Themen, Bruce Adams, Simon Spillett, Winston Clifford, and more.

πŸŽ‰ Having taken a break from bandleading in 2025, Tom is excited to be bringing his trio back to venues around the UK in 2026 with brand-new material.

🌊 09/05/2026 - NAT EVANS

πŸ”₯ On SATURDAY May 9th Jazz at The Ruin are very happy to welcome back the phenomenal NAT EVANS. He has previously played at JATR back in March 2025 with his brilliant collaborative group NatΒ² and we're excited to have him back to play with our house band!

πŸ‘‰ Providing a fresh and emotive perspective on contemporary jazz, Nat Evans is revered across the UK for his intimate and programmatic writing style. Integrating his intertwining backgrounds in classical and jazz, he captivates audiences on a through-composed craft of emotion through melody, reminiscent of the likes of Sam Gendel, Aaron Parks, and Fred Hersch.
