This hits so deeply—this is exactly what learning should be 🤍
It’s never just about facts in a book. It’s about feeling the weight of where we’ve been, the stories carried in our bones, and the journey from the lands we came from to the places we now stand. History isn’t just taught in classrooms—it’s in the land beneath our feet, in the wind, in nature that remembers everything we’ve lived through.
For the diaspora especially: it’s reclaiming the pieces of ourselves that were taken, tracing the paths they forced us along, and finding our way back home in every way we can. That’s not just knowledge—that’s healing, that’s identity, that’s becoming part of the story rather than just reading it.
Thank you for this reminder. We don’t just learn history—we live it, we carry it, and we continue it. 🕊️🌍
