Fantastic opportunity for VCFSE organisations in Birkenhead:

📣 Funding opportunity for VCFSE organisations in Central Birkenhead

The Central Birkenhead Pride in Place Board knows that some of the best people to talk to communities are the organisations that are already part of those communities.

There is a wealth of experience, knowledge and trusted relationships across Central Birkenhead, and we want to work with organisations who know how to bring people together.

We’re inviting VCFSE organisations to apply for funding to host community events that bring people together through food, culture, creativity, sport, music, celebration and activities – creating opportunities to hear what matters to local people and what they want to see for the future of Central Birkenhead.

These aren’t intended to be traditional consultation events. Instead, we want to support the events and activities that communities already enjoy, while creating space for people to share their ideas and experiences as part of the Central Birkenhead Pride in Place Plan.

💷 Funding can also be used to support or amplify events you already have planned.

🤝 PLACED will support the engagement, either by attending your event and running activities, or by providing resources and guidance for your organisation to gather community insight.

📅 Events must take place before 16 October 2026. Application Deadline is the 14th of September

✨ CASTING CALL – KOREAN PERFORMERS ✨

Wish Upon a Party is looking to connect with Korean performers based in the North West / Liverpool & Wirral area for upcoming children’s entertainment work.

We’re particularly interested in performers who would feel comfortable portraying a Rumi-inspired K-Pop character for parties, events and live appearances.

We’re looking for performers who are:

🎤 Confident performers with great stage presence
💃 Comfortable with dance, movement and learning choreography
🎶 Singing ability is a bonus
✨ Warm, energetic and confident interacting with children
🎭 Acting, performing arts or entertainment experience preferred
💕 Reliable, professional and enthusiastic
🚗 Able to travel to the Wirral/Liverpool area for work

This is paid, freelance performance work, with opportunities for parties, events and potentially larger-scale performances.

We’re committed to creating respectful, high-quality K-Pop-inspired entertainment and are particularly keen to hear from Korean performers who feel comfortable and confident taking on this type of role.

FOUR EVER A PRINCESS 👑✨

Today was a bit of a moment for me.

My maternity leave has just come to an end, and today at Gordale was the first time I’ve stepped back into a princess dress and performed in a couple of years.

And truthfully, it wasn’t just maternity leave that kept me away.

Since having Lily almost four years ago, my confidence has changed so much - confidence in my body, confidence as a performer and confidence in my singing, which is something I’m still working on.

There’s also been another little voice in my head…

Am I getting too old to be a princess?

I’m 35 now. I’ve had two babies, my body has changed, I’ve changed - and there have definitely been moments when I’ve wondered whether I should stay behind the scenes and leave the princess dresses to our younger performers.

But today reminded me why I started doing this. 👑

Body confidence is a funny thing. It comes and goes in waves. Motherhood changes your body, your priorities and sometimes your sense of yourself too.

Today, dressed as a princess again, being silly, entertaining children and doing something I’ve loved for years, I felt a little bit of that old magic coming back.

I think I’m finally getting my mojo back. ✨

Over seven years of Wish Upon a Party we’ve worked with so many incredible women, and I know body and performance confidence are struggles for more of us than people realise.

So this is for the mums learning to love a body that feels different. The performers comparing themselves to others. The women wondering if they’re “too old” for something they love. And anyone who doesn’t quite feel like themselves right now.

Confidence comes in waves. Bodies change. We get older. We learn. We grow.

35, mum of two… and apparently still not too old to be a princess. 👑🩷

To all the women finding their mojo again - you’re absolute queens, inside and out.

Maybe I’ll always be a princess after all. ✨

This July, our Toy Adventure is heading to
New Brighton Summer Festival! With and ✨

Join Woody, Buzz and friends as we bring the toy box to life with an interactive family show full of singing, dancing, games and plenty of laughs.
