From quick pencil sketches to the finished piece ✨

Planning a calligraphy composition is all about testing line lengths, adding weight and making little adjustments until everything feels balanced. Once the layout is working, it’s traced onto watercolour paper and lettered with ink and a pointed nib, with a deckled edge to finish it off.

A moment suspended between day and night… L’Heure Bleue means ‘the blue hour’ — that fleeting moment just after sunset, when the sun has slipped below the horizon but darkness hasn’t quite arrived. The sky takes on a deep blue glow and everything feels briefly still.

We’re delighted to be joining Guerlain to celebrate the launch of the new L’Heure Bleue Eau de Parfum — a modern interpretation of Jacques Guerlain’s iconic 1912 fragrance.

The beautiful refillable bottle reflects its inspiration, fading through shades of blue like the sky at twilight.

Our artists began the celebrations on 28 and 29 August at H Beauty Silverburn, Selfridges Exchange Square in Manchester and John Lewis & Partners Liverpool.

✨ What makes you glimmer? ✨

Over the next few weeks, our artists will be joining Estée Lauder at Heathrow Terminal 3 and Gatwick North to celebrate the launch of Glimmer, its gorgeous new amber floral fragrance with a gourmand twist.

We’ll be adding gold calligraphy to the beautifully sculptural Glimmer bottles, along with a tiny aeroplane travelling across the glass—the perfect detail to mark the start of a holiday or a new adventure. ✈️✨

A little helping hand while you learn ✨

For our upcoming Beginner Calligraphy Course, we’ll print this design onto coloured card so you can concentrate on controlling the flow of the nib and changing the pressure—while still creating a card you’ll be proud of!

As your confidence grows, you’ll gradually take more of the design into your own hands.
